Imperfect, but easily the best keyboard I've owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my ThinkPad laptop keyboard and TrackPoint mouse and wanted the same user experience while my laptop was docked. I also wanted a wireless keyboard, as my desk already has more than enough cables snaking around it. So I was thrilled to discover this detached version of the excellent ThinkPad keyboard, which has Bluetooth functionality. It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm mostly thrilled with it. I can think of only three drawbacks.
One is that—as reviews elsewhere have attested—scrolling with the TrackPoint mouse is a bit cantankerous on Linux. Unless you're very exacting in how you lift your fingers off the mouse when you're done scrolling, the PC will register the middle-button press as paste-from-clipboard. As a result, when scrolling through a file it's quite easy to accidentally paste a bunch of text into the middle of your document without intending to. The ThinkPad's onboard Trackpoint isn't nearly so finicky.
Second, unlike with the onboard ThinkPad keyboard, this one has no backlight, which means it's hard to use in the dark or with low light. Admittedly, there are fewer situations where I'd use the detached keyboard with the lights out than the laptop's integrated keyboard. Still, there have been situations where it would've been nice to have used this keyboard in low-light settings and I'm unable to do so without fat-fingering a lot of key combinations.
Finally, I'd note that unlike the ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse, which takes AA batteries, this keyboard has an onboard battery that you charge with a USB cable. Each charge lasts for weeks; it's highly convenient. At the same time, I can't help but worry about what happens when the battery finally wears out. Given how great the product is in other respects, I'd like to keep it forever (or at least as long as the old PC keyboards from the 1990s that are still kicking around). But its life is almost certainly going to be constrained by the longevity of the onboard battery, which isn't user replaceable.
To circle back to my original assessment, though, these are largely small foibles in a fantastic product. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't already love the ThinkPad typing experience, and this product delivers on that promise in spades. If that's what you're looking for, too, you won't be disappointed. It's easily the best keyboard I've ever owned.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan for ThinkPad keyboard since IBM era. I have to say ThinkPad keyboard has been changing over the periods. But the feedbacks of typing is still mostly remained. In addition, the battery lasts as promoted. The small footprint also helps when you have dozen of stuffs on desk!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I was introduced to Lenovo laptops more than 12 years ago as an undergrad, I fell in love with the small trackpointer. I am disappointed the trackpointer hasn't caught on with other manufacturers. I love it because it keeps my fingers on the home row making me quicker at my job
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TrackPoint Keyboard II is the best wireless keyboard on the market. Here's why I think so. 1. The battery life is awesome -- at 2 months of battery life, you can use this keyboard for more than twice as long as the previous generation TrackPoint Keyboard without recharging it. 2. This is one of very few keyboards on the market that have a TrackPoint at all, and other wireless keyboards that have a TrackPoint are almost nonexistent. If you understand why TrackPoints are so great, this is an obvious killer feature. 3. The keyboard is very small, while still being large enough to type at full speed. This frees up desk space for other stuff. The small size of the keyboard is a big reason why I prefer it over other keyboards. 4. The included wireless USB receiver makes it easy to operate this keyboard on a system without a Bluetooth adapter, or with a buggy Bluetooth adapter. Having the flexibility of using either the USB receiver or the Bluetooth protocol is fantastic.
I like the keyboard form factor and bought this keyboard because of the trackpoint to avoid using a separate mouse. I use the keyboard all day long but unfortunately, about once a day or so, the mouse pointer moves on it own after releasing the trackpoint: the pointer slowly moves down until it reaches the bottom of the screen and cannot be stopped. It eventually goes back to a normal behavior after wiggling the trackpoint, but this is particularly annoying. I am wondering whether the keyboard I received has a mechanical defect; I have a laptop with a trackpoint and have never observed that behavior with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This keyboard feels nicer than the old wired version. It's a lot more solid and the keys feel slightly clicky, just like on the laptops. It feels like a high quality device. The only few things that could make it better is if you could connect through the wired connection too as a backup (only used for charging currently.) Very satisfied with the keyboard overall though.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a solution for when I work on my laptop with the Lenovo monitor I bought. I tried other wireless keyboards, and I tried a wireless mouse, too. But keyboards just don't feel as good as my X1 Carbon keyboard, and I hated having a mouse+keyboard to store. I feel that this product is rather expensive, but it was worth it because it meets my needs. I actually don't use the TrackPoint on my X1 Carbon - I use the Track Pad instead. But when using the keyboard with the external monitor, the TrackPoint is a great alternative to the mouse. I really love it. The battery life is wonderful, too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this keyboard already. I don't have my Thinkpad any more for work and this is the next best thing. Works great with my phone and iPad.
