Customer Reviews for Lenovo - ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II (US English) - Wired/Wireless Connectivity - Bluetooth - 2.40 GHz - USB Type A In - Black
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trackpoint is great for work areas without space for a mouse (e.g. from couch or bed). Bluetooth works with my Android phone, and the wireless USB dongle works with Windows 10. The build quality is less than what the cost suggests. USB port does not seem to be reinforced for long-term use as a wired keyboard. (A prior keyboard became unusable because the USB port could not maintain a tight connection.) The battery does not appear to be user-replaceable, which limits the keyboard's usable lifespan. Expect to receive it one month after ordering. Shipping from China took half a week. Expect the box to be opened by Customs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feels exactly like my T460 keyboard - great replacement for any Mac built-in keyboard, or HTPC use where wireless is handy. Connection via the dongle is very reliable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lenovo keyboards are far superior to any other keyboard out there. The placement and comfort of the keys and the nub will keep me using their keyboards indefinitely. I have used this with my windows, macOS, and raspberry pi without any issues. Great job to the team at Lenovo on providing a product that can allow for the use of their keyboards on non Lenovo machines.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] works great but is not the same keyboard as the yoga or T series; it's a bit stiffer. exact same layout tho and otherwise works well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the thinkpad laptops because of the great keyboard, to me it's the best out there, and wanted to have same quality for a wireless keyboard. The trackpoint keyboard II didn't disappoint, it gives you the same typing experience, very comfortable, thin and sleek, and the keys are soft on click. I would say 99% similar to the laptop keyboard. This is the wireless keyboard to get, if you're a fan of the thinkpad laptop keyboard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid and convenient keyboard especially for those who have developed an affinity for the Trackpoint pointer (which I like because i don't have to move my fingers from home typing position).
It's a few ounces heavier than the previous generation and the trackpoint buttons are a bit stiffer and middle button is flush with the others instead of raised a bit like the previous gen – takes a few days to get used to. Key travel might be a tiny bit longer. Also there's a piece of the plastic casing separating the space bar from trackpoint buttons, unlike the previous gen – again takes a bit of getting used to but probably good in the end to prevent accidentally hitting the spacebar when going for a button.
I'm wondering what accounts for the extra weight. Well this unit has two different radios - normal Bluetooth plus something called nano wireless dongle which I'm not sure what that is (well, there's a dongle stored in the back of the unit, I guess that's what that's for, I'm just using good ol' Bluetooth though so far). So maybe the extra radio hardware adds weight. Maybe a bigger battery? I didn't check those specs. The previous gen lasted about a month on a battery charge anyway, if this one lasts at least as long on a charge I'll be happy.
By the way I ordered two and I'm using them with a 27" iMac as well as with MacBooks and an LG Gram. I would buy another Thinkpad some day too (Thinkpads are what got me hooked on Trackpoint in the first place) but the LG Gram was so lightweight it was seductive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is wonderful, it's a Thinkpad keyboard with the Trackpoint feature I love so I don't need a mouse, but what I really love is that I have it connected to one computer by the RF dongle and another computer directly with Bluetooth. I can hold one keyboard and alternate between two computers by flipping a switch. Reduces desktop clutter. Awesome product!
