I use this product for my flat screen along with other electronics such as dvd player and wii. At on point I even had a lamp and Christmas tree plugged in as well. There is plenty of space to plug in several items and the spacing allows for those plugs that need more room to be used without covering the neighboring plugs. A couple winters ago we had a huge ice storm and power surges. Everything that was plugged into my surge protector was safe and sound. It did what was promised. I'd buy this one again.

It seems like a robust unit and well reviewed which is why I got it. It is buried in a cabinet holding electronic components though I can still see the monitoring lights. I want to protect those components that I cannot unplug easily when I'm away. I personally could live without an 8-foot cord which takes up a lot of room but it makes it useful for other uses than mine. It is a difficult thing to review something that stands by until trouble. None of us will know it works properly until the warning lights tell us it handled a surge and our electronics still work.

Wired lab tested surge protectors and made this their singlular recommendation. Internals wear out or blow and you fail to check the lights cause it's tucked away, leaving you without protection. Not this one. Worn out or blown and it won't provide juice - you know you need to replace. Only way to go.

I bought this based on a recommendation from The Wirecutter. They like this surge protector b/c when it no longer can protect against surges it shuts down. This is a sure-fire way to know it's time to replace it. Most other surge protectors will keep on sending power to your stuff even if it's no longer protecting them.
