Ordered two wired keyboards, one was defective out-of-box with a permanently stuck E key on the keyboard. Very disappointing from Lenovo. Obviously never tested in production for basic function.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

X1 Carbon Dream Come True

I purchased the ThinkPad USB 3.0 Hub for my X1 and last second decided to see if Lenovo had the forethought to port over the amazing keyboard from the X1 to a USB. Thank goodness. This thing feels amazing. The first one I received had the middle scroll button stick a little. 5 minute call to Lenovo and a new one was on the way at no charge with a prepaid box to ship the old one back. Fantastic customer service on top of a fantastic product makes it hard to recommend anything else.
On a side note: Lenovo, whenever you decide to update this keyboard I have two suggestions:
1. Make it back lit (I would buy another one tomorrow).
2. Don't use the newest X1 keyboard layout. Not a fan.

Great keyboard! Even better than the previous model that I wore out.
The keyboard is constructed from parts drawn from Lenovo's Thinkpad line. Keys are very crisp with zero lateral "rattle". Has the Trackpoint eraser mouse between the G, H and B keys.
This model requires a USB connection to your computer. I preferred the Bluetooth version of it but all of the reviews of the BT version said that it has near-zero RF range and thus is worthless as a wireless keyboard. I'll wait until Lenovo fixes the range problem and buy the BT version next.
The only shortcoming of this keyboard (and it's small) is that I wish it had a full-sized USB jack. I love my Trackpoint mouse but I can't use it when I do CAD design. For those activities I need a real mouse, so a USB jack to hold the RF receiver would be helpful.

Small, light. Bulletproof!

Small - light - as is usual with all the old Lenovo keyboards, totally bulletproof.
I HAD to get one before they stopped including their pointing stick, which it seems, they are slowly phasing out. At least this way, I'll always have my pointing stick! So now i use a big (Lenovo, of course) - 19" monitor, cause it was the lightest one I could find,with a pc desktop. so I could build my own "laptop" platform I could sit on my lap. It's still a work in progress, but I already like it.
As usual, the little arrow has already started moving around on it's own like they all do, but it's the small price you pay - to have a pointing stick, & that's the ONLY reason i marked "good' - instead of "Excellent"
