Love it, please make one with a number pad!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My company issued laptop does not have a track point mouse, and I can't live without one, so this was my solution. Really wish it had a number pad though.

The keys are weirdly squishy, no Capslockight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The keys on the wired one are not like the ones on the BT keyboard, which has a really nice professional feel, as would be expected from a ThinkPad. The wired keyboard has really bad squishy keys, that are not a pleasure to type on.
I hope Lenovo decides to make the keys on this keyboard similar to those on the BT version.
Also, there is no light on the Capslock button. Since the keyboard works only when connected by the USB cable, why not have the light on Capslock?
And the USB connector on the keyboard is not USB-C, it is the older type.... whaatttt!!
Finally, weighs less then the BT version. It just gives the BT version a goodly feel.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for long work sessions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using it with my X1 Carbon to be able to raise the laptop to eye-height for longer sessions, and it's working great. It is light but seems sturdy, and having the exact same layout as the laptop keyboard means I can type on using my muscle-memory and don't have to re-adjust when switching. The main differences to the X1 keyboard are that the keys are a bit more clicky (like a mechanical keyboard, but not as loud), the finish is grainy rather than matte (but that makes it also less susceptible to oily fingerprints), and the older style mouse buttons, but none of this is really an issue - rather, the trackpoint and mouse buttons seem to work better than on the laptop.

The older model of ThinkPadt USB Keyboard better
on April 30, 2014

The older model with bigger palm rest and separate volume keys was much better. Please bring it back.
The new model can be usefull also if one wants really small, but still full size ergnomical kayboard. But the older model was even more ergonomical.

Almost perfect

The quality of the keyboard is on par with the one that comes on the laptops, so it doesn't disappoint. However, unlike the built-in keyboard, it is not possible to swap Ctrl and Fn keys. The multimedia keys are also different from the ones in my ThinkPad X230, no Prev/Play/Next keys for example.

No Caps Lock light, can't swap Fn & Ctrl keys

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I could love this keyboard. I wanted a compact one so I could have my mouse closer to my left hand which is better for ergonomics, but this isn't the solution. I'm dumbfounded that anyone would make a keyboard without a capslock light. For those of you who don't know, being unable to toggle that light means your system has crashed. So not having that indicator is foolish. Secondly, there's no accompanying software so swap that FN key and Ctrl key. As often as I would personally use it, I'd stick it just left of the spacebar. So I also can't fix my annoyances with the keyboard layout. It's sitting in a box in my closet after 2-3 days of awkward use. Then they include what should be a manual, but it's a generic pamphlet they have with all their USB devices and it goes into the differences in speed between USB 3.0 and 3.1, etc... All of which are irrelevant for a 1 Mbps low bandwidth device like a keyboard.

Stand alone keyboards
on November 8, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my old, stand-alone Lenovo keyboard with Lenovo’s latest version. The arrangement of keys is very different. For example, the PageUp & PageDown keys are part of the cursor key area. It is hard to use and nowhere near as good as the prior design which had a wrist rest. The main reason for me to use this keyboard is the track point mouse in the middle of the keyboard, which is a brilliant design since my hands don’t have to leave the keyboard to move the cursor around the screen.
