I absolutely love my new skillet. It's like having an extra stove in the house without the need to mess up the entire stovetop every time I cook. The only problem I'm trying to work through is heat regulation. I find that the heat is difficult to control, especially when I'm frying something with or without breading. I'll put it in hot oil and it seems to be ok, but then I find that the heat decreases and the frying seems to have stopped. Same thing with cooking liquids. A slow boil goes so low after a few minutes that I check to make sure it's not off. I have to keep increasing the temperature and then watch it carefully to turn it back down when it gets going. Cooking time has significantly increased on many dishes because of this.

This is really a nice electric skillet but it is very hard to regulate the temperature. I knew this from previous reviews. If they could work this kink out, it would probably be by far the best electric skillet out there.

As much as I would like to recommend this skillet, I cannot. I love to use an electric skillet for everything from simple breakfasts to more extravegant meals and have been doing so since I left home 40 plus years ago. While this skillet is beautiful and the non stick coating is excellent that is as good as it gets. The control is poorly marked for precise temperatures but thats okay since it can't hold any temperature you set anyway. You are forced to constantly adjust the controller to a higher temp to get the heat back up. The oval shape makes it hard to poor anything out such as oil or graveys. Overall save your money with a good Presto brand skillet and with the money you save buy a Quisinart waffle iron, thosee work well.

The skillet heats up and then does not hold a consistent temperature. I can start it at 350° and have to continually increase the temperature to keep it cooking. Otherwise, the food will just sit in the oil and not fry. Very disappointing for the amount I had to pay for it.

Wonderful, well made electric skillet. My first large electric was purchased in 2012 and was used frequently with very satisfying results. I purchased another one of these excellent skillets in 2020 because a disrespectful friend scrated my first skillet. Since being so pleased with the first purchase the decision to replace with another Cuisinart skillet was a very clear choice. Cuisinart, thank you for making such excellent quality cookwear.
