I bought this on a whim and I love it. So much fun to mess around with and completes my barcade set up. High quality item and super easy interface/app.
This item needs a lot of work yet. I was really hoping this could be something like Glance or a Sport Scores thing for the Man Cave. It is unfortunately not living up to the hype and I will be returning mine. It also has a few bugs (One of the most annoying ones is, When you leave the app open for a few minutes on your phone and try to change the scene, It will just spin and sping and never change it. You need to close the app and reopen app to change the scene).

Our APP will optimize this issue at the end of June. You can update it at the end of the month to see if the problem still exists.
Has glitches that need fixing but it is amazing when it works.

Not Ready For Prime Time

I don't think I've ever seen a consumer product like this with so many bugs. Everything is updated, the light is the latest firmware, iOS Govee app is the latest version, iOS has been updated--it's even on the latest model iPhone. I can't even begin to list all the weird bugs I've run across--failed saves, scenes not working, playlists failing, some scenes within playlists don't play for the specified duration or even at all... Seriously, this is just a mess of a product. Cannot recommend.

May I ask if you are currently using a 2.4GHz network? If your router supports dual-band frequencies, please temporarily disable the 5GHz band before attempting the initial connection.
Additionally, we recommend resetting the light to see if this resolves the issue. To reset, please use a toothpick or paperclip to gently press the reset button located in the hole on the back of the device.
If possible, could you also try connecting the device using your phone’s hotspot to determine if the issue persists?
We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Please let us know the results, and feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

A Great Start!

Being the first pixel light by Govee I am pretty impressed! They went for their own style, own look, and own strengths. Sometimes i wish it were bigger, but the frame rate is pretty good and makes up for the size. Govee is always coming out with Pro version and upping the number so I Cant wait to see what they come up with next!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A neat little display for gaming and pixel art enthusiasts
on May 21, 2025

So this new device from Govee is a visual display made with a pixel LED matrix, similar to other pixel LED displays like the Divoom Pixoo 64 or Pixoo Max. The visual quality of the display is excellent with a very high amount of brightness and no light bleeding between each of the 1664 individual LEDs. The device come with over 150+ scenes to use that are very nice to look at, and a handful of user uploaded or created images and animations that you can use with the Govee app. However, due to the pixel resolution of the display being 32 by 32 (or 52 by 32 if you get the wide screen version), the visual quality of displaying images that aren't already pixelated will mostly be indistinguishable at times, much less when compared to a device like the Pixoo 64's 64 by 64 pixel resolution.
While I haven't played around with the pixel art creation tools that much, I can at least say they are pretty deep and complex, so I'm sure that anyone who is into creating pixel art and animations will feel right at home with the tools, especially those who are use Divoom's pixel art tools. It also comes with the same widgets and extra tools such as a clock, weather forecasts, stocks/bitcoin tracker and more, so it's absolutely a device you can use daily and not just have it as basic display for your desk or wall.
The AI art tool, at the moment, is just kind of "okay" for displaying a generic image onto the device. Most of the time, due to the imperfection of AI Art generation, the image that you get from prompts can be a bit iffy at times. Luckily, you can fix the imperfections yourself, because once an AI image has been generated, you can edit the image yourself manually using the pixel art tools. Also: The AI Art generation usually doesn't take well to certain things that could be considered copyrighted, so trying to get an image of something like Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog may require you to be extra specific with your prompts.
The biggest reason why I decided to get this device, despite owning a Pixoo 64 (and a Ditoo), is because of the potential compatibility with PC RGB software such as Razor Chroma or SignalRGB. While the device does seem to work with SignalRGB, the software doesn't fully utilize the space of the display, only showing one solid color at a time. Hopefully the people at SignalRGB will update their software soon, as SignalRGB is already compatible with a ton of Govee and Razor Chroma-enabled devices.
Overall: This new display is great for those who are into video games or pixel art. The reason I'm giving the device a 4 out of 5 is because the pixel density isn't as good as Pixoo 64, and I feel like it could use some extra functions, such as connectivity with gaming PCs (something like a PC Monitor Widget similar to the one on the Pixoo 64 would be great). And of course, the amount of community art and animations that's available on the Govee app isn't as vast as the amount of community art and animations available on Divoom's app, but surely that will improve with time as more people adopt this new display.
