Nice trees. Colors and smart features are nice. 1 HUGE problem, though. The control box IS NOT water proof. Instructions say it shouldn't be sprayed or submerged, and it is suggested to place them in a waterproof box of some kind. Not sure how you can have outdoor trees that are designed for outdoor use with water sensitive controls... This is the description on the website:

This is a well made cone tree! It’s easy to put together. It can be done in less than an hour. The frame is all metal and it comes with everything you need to put it in your yard so it won’t fly away or tip over. It comes with 6 powder coated staple that you push into the ground to help hold it down. I would have liked to see Govee add 4 more just to be more secure. I had some extras and used those. It does come with a bag you can fill with water or sand to help hold it down also. It gets cold where I live so if I do use it I’ll fill it with sand. The lights on it are awesome with tons of different scenes and patterns to choose from. Or make your own! I bought two of them.

Easy to set up with some decent features. Some of the designs are hard to see. The DIY is VERY difficult and confusing. Also, it is not compatible with the other GOVEE lights.

Nice but concerned for longevity

I purchased 2 of these cone trees. My thoughts are this. Set up is easy, lights are bright, and lots of scenes to choose from. They looked really good in my yard. I purchased two boxes to keep control boxes out of weather.
My cons. One string on each tree has already snapped in pieces. It makes me wonder how long the others last going into next year. I wish I could add these to my other customer scenes to control everything at once. Also, I wish boxes were fully waterproof.
I can’t select a 3.5 star rating but that’s probably where I think they currently are. Would love to add a couple more but may way to see if upgrades are made or how these handle two seasons. Concerned that more strands of strings are gonna snap in two.
