As Gen Z turns to vinyl, this Gen X'er wanted a good-quality CD player to enjoy my collection. The C-7030 has some heft to it, is beautifully designed, and does just what a wanted it to do. My playback is mostly through the built-in headphone jack and sounds fantastic; fade-outs and reverb trails are absolutely silent. I can't speak to the digital outs. In short, I love it. It's streamlined and the sound is excellent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

High End Mechanism and Fidelity-Underpriced!

I have had a C-7030 for about 7 years. A couple years ago, I bought a refurb for backup. Recently, I bought a new(3rd one) because the old one could no longer read CDRs.
Meanwhile, I installed the refurb, which worked perfectly. I decided to clean the dusty laser lens(Q tip and alcohol) while the old one was free, which restored it! Now I have 3 perfect CD players.

These players have such precision mechanisms and incredible sound. I have an extremely heavy and sturdy shelf, solid floors, and set the receiver on top, so no skipping whatsoever. I have seen complaints they are as sensitive as a half gram tonearm to skipping, but never here.
I have read articles where expert techs rave about this player's quality. You are getting the quality of competitor's $800-$1,000 players. The DAC is good, and can only be exceeded by higher end audiophile receivers/amps/outboard DACs.
I have an Onkyo TX-8140 receiver, the remote can operate these players, and they are perfectly and handsomely matched! It is a blessing my shelf lacked room for the multi-disc model.
These players are an outstanding bargain for the money. They easily exceed the sound quality of competitors costing double or more, and the higher end smooth mechanism also easily bests those models.
Essential controls are on the face, but it doesn't look cluttered. These exceptional CD players are within the reach of people with modest incomes. People who would never hear such fidelity, otherwise. Get one while you can. Just don't run them in a dusty dive, like I do, though 7 years for a first lens cleaning isn't bad, considering the dust levels in this old shack.

Bought brand new in 2017 only reason for not giving it a5 star rating it had problems reading disc's after a few months had to take apart and clean the excessive grease applied from factory, sounds wonderful.

Reads the discs perfectly. No problems. I have used the analog as well as the digital outputs. Either way it works great.

Perfect for my needs

Lately I've gotten back into physical media in a big way, including music. This CD player is no slouch on its own but hooked up to my amp it's even better. Great sound, awesome clarity, and it looks great too. If I ever get the itch to upgrade (although I can't really see a reason I'd need to) I can always upgrade to an external DAC and use this player as a CD transport but still benefit from its high build quality and components.
I would recommend this to a friend!
