Due to Covid 19 shipping took forever with no communication from Singer, which was not good at all! A little communication would have gone a very long way!!! That has nothing to do with the product though. I actually love the machine since I've been using it and I have been using it daily! You can't go wrong with this machine. Very easy to set up, comes with great quick set up instructions. You'll be sewing within minutes of unpacking! Great for the beginner and experienced.

Dear Singer, I was very disappointed to find that the machine had been put together badly. A screw was loose in the box and I found where it belonged by the loose piece above the needle. On the right side by the wheel, a piece was not put into the slot, and sticks out. Please address these issues

Powerful Machine

Very impressed by the speed and power of this machine. Able to sew through several layers of material with no problem. Especially like the needle threader. So easy to select the various stitches. This machine is easy enough, that my 8 year old grandson has been able to make some cloth book marks. He also made some mug (coffee cups) rugs. This is a good starter machine to learn sewing.

Jamming thread

I’ve had a lot of problems with the thread jamming up in the bobbin bay. If I let it sit for a few weeks the problem seems to correct itself sometimes, but it’s very frustrating. It also makes a really loud clunking noise sometimes, I’m not sure what that’s about but it scares the heck out of me. Now, the foot control stopped working. I was having a few problems with it here or there with the pressure not working, I would have to press the petal all the way down to full speed and then gradually let up to the speed I wanted. It’s an amazing machine- when it works properly. But I would spend a little more money for a product with less problems. I’m really disappointed singer did not live up to its reputation with this machine. I’ll probably look into some different brands for my next machine.

Singer Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine - "Love it"

I wore out my sewing machine making masks this summer so decided I needed a new machine. I did research online to determine what type of machine I should get and decided on a Singer Heavy-Duty 4432 machine. I always buy Singer but had never had a Heavy Duty machine and thought it would be great for sewing denim among other things. All I can say is this is a GREAT machine. It runs very smooth but has a lot of power. I love the see-through drop-in bobbin feature so I am never surprised by an empty bobbin. I also really love the automatic threader because as I get older it is getting harder to thread the needle. This is a really great feature. I also love the gray color. Overall I am thrilled with the machine and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new machine.

Replacement

Bought this as a replacement for an older Singer that finally stopped working. I especially bought it to sew on jeans as it was advertised as a Heavy Duty Machine. It is no better then the older one, would not sew over the jean side seam and would not sew over the waistband to repair a tear, broke two needles and gave up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bad switch locations for mounting in a cabinet

Overall, this is a nice machine that performs very well. My complaint is related to the overall design. The power switch and drop feed lever are both located below the level of the sewing surface. This won't matter for people who put their machine on a table, but for people who have their machine flush mounted in a cabinet or table, the two switches are inaccessable. I plugged the power cord into a remote-control outlet switch for ease of turning on and off. However, the drop feed lever can only be accessed by removing the machine from the cabinet.
