A very nice easy-to-use machine. Compared to my 50 year old Singer Genie, I miss the built-in storage for the foot pedal and cord which makes it nice and compact. But the new one is quiet and similar in other ways that make it enjoyable to use.
This is my second singer sewing machine. The first one lasted 40 years! It works very well. In a month of use I’ve already made 12 clothing items. Two thoughts about this machine:1) I do not like not having a booklet for the instructuon manual. I love that you’re saving trees, but this is one type of item when it’s really useful to have a tangible item in which to make notes. Which would help with item number 2) The instructions for how to make a buttonhole need to be re-written. There is no way I would have figured out to pull that magic handle down AND push it back without going to the video. No one could figure out how to write that?
The sewing machine is so easy to use. As someone who has never used one before and didn’t know a single thing about them I now know so much. The YouTube videos make it really easy to follow along with setup and other instructionals. It’s also pretty heavy duty I have sewn through multiple layers of a ducked vest no problem. The only complaint is that the automatic needle threading doesn’t work for me. Tried to use it for a while before giving up and just manually threaded it. Other than that minor issue seems to work great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you so much for the 5 stars and for taking the time to write your review of the Singer model M3500 sewing machine. We greatly appreciate you for sharing your experience with other shoppers.
I love this sewing machine! We've had an old sewing machine for years that kept breaking, so when I was looking around for a new one, I looked at Singer because I know they make top quality machines. I am not disappointed with my purchase! Not only is this model very cute (one of the reasons I chose this particular one), but it was for a reasonable price and it works flawlessly! I'm so excited to finally have a sewing machine that works and works well. So far as a novice seamstress, I have sewn a skirt, shirt, and am in the process of sewing my first dress. I'm looking forward to using this machine for years to come!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a total piece of crap, do not buy. I have had this for over a year and I've spent more time fixing and completely rethreading this machine then I have actually used it to sew. I will be in the middle of a project, finish the piece I am working, take a break then when I comeback all of a sudden it's skipping stiches, breaking the thread or more often than not getting jammed which requires 5+ minutes to untangle and completely rethread all without it being touched. Don't be fooled by the "auto threader" either... because it's not. I spent the first 2 hours when I received this trying to figure out what I was doing wrong because the thread wouldn't go through the needle. What I quickly found was that not only do you have to have the needle raised to a very precise height that even if you are 1/100 of a turn of the knob off the thread grabber won't go through the needle, but my brand new machine came with the thread grabber bent so even if I did everything right it wouldn't go through. If all that isn't bad enough, did I mention it gets jammed constantly for no good reason? If you think this is user error I assure you it is not as I practically have all of the Youtube tutorials for the M3500 made by Singer themselves memorized bc I have watched them so many times wondering what I am doing wrong and when I have borrowed other peoples non-singer machines (I can't say which bc it's against review guidelines), I have had no issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this machine for an eleven year old granddaughter who has expressed a desire to learn how to sew. I was thrilled to give her this gift for Christmas; her greatgreatgrandmother and greatgrandmother would be so happy to endorse this gift. I look forward to working with her and learning how easy it is to use a new Singer machine.
