[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always wanted to have this for my home to make my family feel safe. It’s a very bougie item. It’s a smart home touchscreen deadbolt that has a key override and a RFID card reader. It comes wi charge ready. It’s also motorized with standard compatible Bluetooth. It stores up to 250 pins and unique codes. It also is auto re-lock with adjustable timer settings. One touch entry and away mode. Door positions sensory Included. It also has an emergency USB-C power port. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Solid deadbolt, easy to install and program for the “smart” benefits.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, observation of product. Looks as displayed on the box, except the numbers on the keypad not lit up (since no battery in). At first I was not keen on the color black, wanting more of a brushed nickel to match current door hardware, but as I look at it, perhaps a large nickel lock box would look odd (who knows).
Installation: door already had been drilled out (replaced an existing lock) so installing the lock into the door was quite easy, as easy as any other lock I have installed. Resetting master number and programming the RFIDs is described in the included instructions and was straightforward and easy to do. After installation, checking the fluidity of the movement of the lock using an open door, very fluid, no issues locking or unlocking the deadbolt. Closed the door and pressed the button to lock, and the deadbolt locked the door perfectly. A pleasant female mechanical voice announced the door is locked. After programming the lock (described below), I used the keypad to unlock the deadbolt (with an open door). Uh-oh...first problem. The deadbolt did not go all the way in. I looked for any kind of interference. After removing the lock from the door looking at everything, I saw that the face plate for the deadbolt prevented the deadbolt from going completely into the door, rendering it impossible to open the door, needed to use the key to retract the deadbolt completely. This was the only real flaw I had with this lock kit, and it may have occurred because I had popped the face plate off at the beginning, just to see the deadbolt workings. I was able to remedy this issue by filing the face plate opening, just a bit, to prevent any interference.
Function of the lock: Locks and unlocks easily when done manually (turning the knob) from the inside. A voice announces door is locked. Clicking the button to auto-lock also engages the lock. If installed on a door that has a security feature preventing deadbolts from being locked (the opposing plate slides down half an inch or so, and you have to lift it up so the deadbolt will lock), you will have to ensure alignment. This feature is a negative when trying to lock from outside, so this lock is not intended for this type of door (example, French doors), unless you affix that security feature so it is always aligned.
Benefit experienced: After installation, was doing work and went to go in, and the door was locked. Punched in the code I set up and the dead bolt opened. I really came to appreciate that option in opening the door. There are other functions this door lock has, such as auto relock, and use of an app. I have no interest in either of those, and did not evaluate those.
Bottom line: I was not really interested in this type of lock, but given the opportunity to evaluate it, thought I would see. Well, I like this lock, kind of a techier deadbolt system. It is as solid a deadbolt as any, so a lesser security is not a concern. I can see at least one benefit (as described above) that for me will come into play often, no doubt. Also, having the option of the RFID, or even the keypad, I envision this easier than trying to get a key into the lock on a cold day. This is a good product.

Alfred DB2S - An impressive smart lock, sleek design and robust security features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d like to share my thoughts about a smart door lock I received for review. The name of this product is the Alfred DB2S Smart home touchscreen deadbolt. This is a smart lock that according to the documentation, includes robust security features. Upon unboxing I checked the contents, then I download an app on my phone to assist with installation. There are multiple ways to unlock this deadbolt. It’s with a traditional key access, using RFID Card, using a Pin Code, and via the Mobile App. That was really cool, it let me control and monitor my smart lock remotely. The app is available for iOS and Android. I downloaded the Android version. This deadbolt includes a rechargeable battery, it’s lithium-ion and it reports to provide 8-12 months of usage per charge. I really like the design of this model, it is sleek and streamlined. This particular one is Black Chrome. The touch screen is a nice touch. Very modern! As I mentioned, installing this was easy due to the BILT app that I downloaded on my phone. I could do it myself. The connection to the lock from the phone is via Bluetooth. Overall, I found this smart lock to be secure and convenient. The installation was easy. I highly recommend this.

The Best!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as a promotion in exchange for an honest review. So here’s my honest review. I LOVE IT! Let me start by saying that I installed it on a non standard door that took a little extra engineering to make it fit. However, standard installation should be very simple and easy. Setup was quick and easy once installed. Don’t have to worry about carrying keys. I like that you can create a temporary access code if you want to give someone temporary access, for, say, if they’re watching your house while you’re away for a trip. Operation is smooth and it looks good. I installed it on my garage door, but I’m highly considering getting another for the front door.

I purchased the DB2S back in October 2023 and I've been absolutely thrilled with it. It was very easy to install, looks great on the door and works wonderfully - very quick to respond in the app and through my Hubitat Elevate hub via Zwave. Just under 5 months installed and the battery is at 80%, but it's rechargeable. I'm hoping one day to get the Wi-charge module and not have to worry about the battery.
Pros: Great Looking Design, WIFI Enabled, Easy To Assemble, Z-Wave Enabled
I would recommend this to a friend!
