[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third GE microwave we have had to purchase. the other 2 lasted 6 to 7 years. For the limited use it gets I would expect it to last longer. If it was not a built in I would have purchased a different brand.

Our new microwave has a lock which is very inconvenient to push following each use. I’ve never seen this before and feel it’s unnecessary.
The door mechanism is unusually difficult to push to open the door; doesn’t seem well engineered.

Other than that, it seems to heat well, but definitely wouldn’t recommend this product.

Effective April, 2024, all countertop microwave ovens come equipped with a Child Resistant Oven Door. Opening the door now requires a two-step process for enhanced child safety. The use of child-resistant oven door latches by all manufacturers of microwave ovens helps to reduce the likelihood of young children handling hot foods and beverages items. You can disable this feature: 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. There will be two shorts beeps and the display will flash "UnLo" to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully.

GE under the cabinet microwave.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 3rd GE under the cabinet we have owned over 40 years. The microwave is prefect for our small kitchen. There is sufficient space to have a toaster oven under the microwave and still have usable counter space.

Replaced a 20+ years old JEM31SF01 which finally failed on us. This was the only oven that would fit in our cabinet so choice was limiited. Price was high and quality , design and performance are not nearly as good as the old oven was. The control panel is very difficult to read unless you have bright lights on. The power is less than the old oven and the light is so dim that you can barely see inside. The door latch is not smooth and it doesn't have the feel of quality when opening and closing. In summary, I am very disappointed in the oven and wish that I could revive my old one. Newer is not always better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GREAT GE MICROWAVE OVEN
