Great gps, terrible pay system

Amazing gps unit. It provides all of the cycling metrics I could ask for. The notifications are quick and routing works great even off the beaten path. Garmin does need to figure out their pay system. I know they want their own but it only works with no bank I have availability to in north America.

Everything is great!! But I am having problems that I cannot connect my Oakley vanguard to my edge. Because my region that is Puerto Rico.

Long overdue upgrade from my older model!

As an avid cyclist in my late sixties I needed cycling computer with large, bright display and what a difference between this one and my old Edge 1030! Add smooth integration with other Garmin products like Forerunner watch Varia Radar or power pedals and you have ideal set for enthusiastic cyclist.

Great so far-especially with new radar

Have almost 200 miles on it now and an impressed so far. I come from using my Fenix 7X on my handlebars so there is a lot more viewing area that I have been able to put to good use. I also like the integration of the new rearvue radar-much more sensitive than my 515. Hoping that the battery life will keep me happy.

Solid Tools

Excellent battery and screen, incredible tools and metrics, allowing insightful ride and fitness data from day one. Incredibly difficult to set-up initially with simple record and ride without complications capability. As with most Garmin equipment, incredible technical capability is met with weird and uniquely Garmin verbage, days of ride to simply see and record data. My old 1030 began dying couple before my first race of the season and I splapped this new 1050 into place and fully expect exactly the same screens and data viewing while riding. They could make this transition so much easier. Overall an excellent choice for someone who is above average adept at setup.
