I've had a Snap 3 Pro for a while and was happy with it, but upgraded to a Snap 4 Luxe on a whim (it was [near] my birthday). The new design seems really excellent so far. I like that closing the Snap 4 Luxe is much quieter than with the previous model. Also, opening requires less effort/force than the previous model. These two things also seem to bode well for durability, as I feel like opening and closing probably involves less wear than with earlier designs.
This is so well designed that I’m constantly in awe as I use it. I had the Snap 3, and this one is so much better that I dare say they may never need to make a Snap 5. Every single bit of this has been upgraded; it feels sturdier, moves a lot smoother, sounds quieter as it snaps to other MagSafe items, and looks way better too. I will recommend this to everybody I can.
Most of it has already been said in the reviews to this point and I agree with all of them. I had two 3s and both broke in different ways. The first ripped the snap "button" right out of the back of the snap leaving a small hole in the middle, and obviously wouldn't close anymore. The second one broke at the bottom of the hinge. The first was just outside of warranty and the second they replaced with this, no questions asked... well one picture asked. I can't reiterate enough how much better that magnetic closing mechanism is on this new one. It's hardly even mentioned (I get it, it's not something you would appreciate that much unless you had the older version) but it's by far my favorite upgrade to this version. I was willing to look past the shortcomings of the older version for the amazing utility of it but now that they have fixed those issues it's the only grip on the market worth getting. Time will tell if the legs will hold up but I'm very happy with the iterations and it shows that they are getting feedback and incorporating it in to their new products. I can stand behind a company that doesn't rest on it's laurels.
This is the best iteration of Ohsnap I've had yet. I've been a fan since backing version 1 on Kickstarter. Snap 3 was great, but I had a couple different grips start cracking and and tearing at the base of the hinges overtime, eventually breaking entirely.
This design seems a lot more sturdy and more pleasing to use; I absolutely love the magnetic closing! That's one of my favorite features in comparison to the snap 3's snapping close; it's so much better with the magnetic closing. And the magnets around the base seem stronger too.
The grip is more comfortable to use in all the different positions, and it is a lot more sturdy when used as a kickstand horizontally – although still pretty tipsy when standing it up vertically, since the kickstand feature is more sturdy it can be set in the opposite direction and still hold the phone up; in that way, it doesn't tip over as easy.
Also, the midnight blue color is lovely. I love how dark and muted it is. It is perfect.
Overall, a phenomenal grip. I truly hope this one doesn't have the cracking problems I had with the snap 3 after using it for a while. I have faith in this one though.
Highly recommend!
P.S. You can use the snap 2 metal rings still, on this and the snap 3. They are the same diameter as the snap 3 and 4; if you put a round piece of cardboard in the middle of the ring that is the same thickness as the ring, it will support the middle of the grip and let's it work flawlessly. I still use the ring because I don't trust the adhesive alone to stick to my phone case.
I’ve been using oh snap since version 2. Oh snap 3 was great and now snap 4 is just a great upgrade in materials. Not only is the main ring aluminum but the center (part where the finger goes through) is also aluminum. Which makes it very durable and gives more assurance that it’ll hold up in the long run. The only warning I will give is for people with “thick” fingers, you might want to get snap 3 instead. With the center being aluminum it does not “give” at all so you might struggle or get finger fatigue from having your fingers squeezed. Hope that makes sense.
Love the product love the reusable grip, love the fact they brought back the loop. My only complaint is my fingers are too big to go through the new loop design. If it were slightly larger it would be perfect. All in all Long time fan of this brand and phone grip
My pink Oh Snap Pro 3 didn’t hold up to the test of time. The Snap 4 Luxe is a vast improvement in design and grip. No wore restocking it to my phone every time a strong magnetic device is used. This one really grips my case. The magnetic closure is smooth and the new finger grips are ideal. Highly recommend.
