I’ve had ohsnaps for YEARS and this is literally the best thing ever. My biggest gripe with the last one was the popping in and out, this being magnetic is absolutely incredible. No more terrible popping noise when I used my ohsnap, just smooth open and close. I would put these on everything if I could. I even just ordered some more for family members. Excellent.
The magnetic closure is absolutely GENIUS! I am loving the comfortability, and accessibility of this edition! The only generation I never owned was Gen1 and although IMO Gen3 was a swing and miss in many aspects vs Gen2, Gen4 improves the ideas that were not so great AND the ideas that were already great! The magnetic closure is fantastic, the magnetic ring to secure the phone to steel is amazing, the stickiness and hold onto the phone is phenomenal, and the "legs" under the caps are actually comfortable this time around. I don't use magnetic charging or reverse charging with my S23 Ultra because I like casing my phone with Otterboxes, but I did test it through the grip without my case and it worked fine.
I think the overall build quality and feel is leaps and bounds better than the snap 3. The magnetic center is amazing too. My only reason for giving a 4 star is the rotation seems to be a little grindy and it gets stuck sometimes. I'm not sure if that's only with my unit or it's a design flaw.
I’ve had the snap 3.0 for about 4 months now and I loved it. When I saw they were making one that would match my phone even more I figured I’d pick it up and if it wasn’t that different gift it out. MAN it is great, I noticed a comfortable difference and even better MagSafe charging than I had before. Regifting my 3.0 to my little brother but this is gorgeous
I've been using it for around a day and I'm not having any issues I had with the snap 3 pro. Idk if I'd say it's better than the snap 2 but it's great. Idk how well the adhesive works because I have the magnetic ring from the snap 2. I highly suggest you get the magnetic ring set and this grip together. The magnets in this grip are far stronger than the previous grips and if you use the magnetic ring you can take the grip off if you want to use a case that you can't use the grip with. Taking off the grip is pretty difficult and I always had issues with the previous grips coming off when using the car mount and I haven't had that issue. The closure system works really well and the one hand grip doesn't hurt with this grip
I had the Ohsnap 2, and this is definitely a big upgrade. It's way more comfortable, and I like that there's multiple ways to use it. Unfortunately, the adhesive isn't strong enough to keep the grip attached to my case when I'm using the deskmount, so my phone keeps sliding off of the grip. Maybe this isn't a problem with iphones, but it basically makes the magnetic feature useless for my android.
Tldr; I bought the snap 1 to 3. And i must say this is the best one so far. Hinge is sketchy, but works. And for androids, wireless charging is a bit sketchy if put on center.
Pros The magnets are stronger than 2 and 3, theres no clearance and the strength remains. The magnetic backing is convenient and easy to put finger under which brought back the ez of use from snap 1 and 2, the kick stand is stable and secure. The spinning is smooth and ez. More prmium feel. The sticky pad is magical repositioned 3 times and its still sticks. 2 nibs that locate kickstand without looking.
Cons( nit picky, more personal issues than a major issue) My fingers are too big to fit into the center hole comfortably. the new hinge system is a bit sketchy so far it sort of bends weirdly when you put it on kickstand. The 12 small strand mesh hinge is really thin individually, collectively they are strong but individually they seem sketchy. When i try to put finger in middle they tend to like bending the wrong way.
Another inconvenience is that my android wireless charging is being interrupted, i have a samsung galaxy s23ultra and when i try to put the ohsnap on dead center the charging is interrupted. Not major i just moved it down half an inch from center, it still interrupts a bit because the ohsnap is still close to the charging center. but in the right position it can charge wirelessly.
