I just got a new IPhone 17 pro max and decided to get the upgraded snap grip 5. I like that it is thicker to match the raised camera but doesn’t stick well to my snap car 2.0. Every time I hit a bump my phone kept falling off. Then I switch it out with my old snap grip and the original snap grip sticks way better to the stand. Anyone else have this issue?
Everything about this new SnapGrip feels premium. The problem is it doesn’t stick to the mounts as advertised. The magnets in this are very weak. If your drop your phone the SnapGrip flies off as well. I’ve been a strong supporter of this company and have purchased car mounts and wall mounts, all for this to not work with them. Good idea for a new product, not great execution.
I had one of the first Oh snaps and there are many things that are better now. The way the Oh snap comes out, the way it retracts, how thin it is, and the colors are all improvements. The smooth bevel around the edge is even better than before as well. The magnet in the new is not as strong. It’s strong enough to stick to my phone securely, but my old one could stick to my fridge or on a machine at the gym even the main pillar of my car. But this new has trouble with those. It’s just not as strong as it used to be. Also the wireless charging capability of my phone is diminished with this model. When I put it on my charging pad at home or in my car it does not do wireless charging consistently
I have purchased multiple times with ohsnap with amazing results but this last purchase was not lit the rest . First it took weeks to ship and room a email to get any shipping info . Now my snap grip doesn’t secure properly after a couple days .
The new grip was an aggravation from the start. The magnet was weaker so it was difficult to properly mount my phone on any QI charger. It wouldn’t just snap into the correct alignment, you had to move it slowly back and forth and hope that you find the right placement. When I could get it to stick to the QI charger in my car, sometimes the grip would stay on the QI Charger and I would walk away without my grip. After many days of frustration I went back to the prior version and it has solved my issues. The new grip was a waste of money. I bought the new grip thinking it would keep the magnet strength while losing the adhesive so I could remove the grip when I wanted to. Even though I have a mag safe phone case, the new grip doesn’t work well.
