When it first arrived, I was a little apprehensive because when extended, it looked like it would be flimsy and break. Glad that isn’t the case! Seems to be very well made and it is so slim! I can actually mag safe charge through it, which is very nice. The color combo goes extremely well with my case, and the magnet is MUCH stronger than any of my MagSafe wallets. Highly recommend this. Very satisfied overall with my purchase.
The version 4 grip was better. V5 won’t stay mounted to an apple magsafe ram mount in the truck. Falls off all the time. The other day I woke up and my phone didn’t charge because it was slightly misaligned to the MagSafe charger... that NEVER happened with the v4 mount. I liked the idea of no adhesive for the grip to the phone, but the other design changes made make the product worse and borderline non-functional.
I bought one for each member of my family. They look nice on our phones and do work as a stand, BUT our phones don’t wirelessly charge with the OhSnap product on our phones. We have to remove the OhSnap from our phones to charge wireless. Unfortunately these are a waste of money.
I'm not sure which version I have as my order isn't clear but I'll assume it isn't the latest. I use the grip on my Kindle, but because the grip won’t stay closed, I think at times it catches on something and moved. there’s something about the hinge that makes it impossible to stay down, even when fiddling with it. I hope they have upgraded this in future models.
I’ve been an OhSnap user since the very first version and every time I think “This is the best one yet” because they’ve continuously improved the product, sometimes drastically between versions. And I didn’t even know how they were going to improve on the 4...and well the fixed the only thing that bothered me about is that it was a pain to take it off and put it back on. The 5 has insanely strong magnets, like 3-4x the grip strength of standard MagSafe. There seems to be no amount of normal arm movement that can make your phone fall off. Extreme circumstances, I have no idea, but it shouldn’t fall off under regular use. It’s just shy of being a pain to get off, but if you can’t get it with a fingernail and credit card will do. Overall very happy. Didn’t fix what was working, and added the ability to put on a case at will.
I purchased 3 Snap Grips in hopes a giving a great Christmas present. I attached one to my cell phone and it lasted approximately 1 hour. I did one spin and the grip would no longer close. It hangs out catching on everything. It does not prop your phone up. Maybe I got a bad unit, but this thing does nothing like the advertisement. I would like a refund please.
I purchased my snap grip five a few weeks ago and there are some positives and negatives. The positives are it’s a very trim fit so it does not hang up when you put your phone in your pocket. It has a strong magnet, but the magnet does pop off if the phone is dropped. The other issue I have is the finger hole is difficult to get your finger in and the plastic stand is flimsy. It also has problems lying flat after you have been using the finger hole for too long. It does take some time to get used to it but so far it’s good enough that I have not replaced it. I think it could be improved by beefing up the materials a bit so that it’s not so flimsy.
