I loved and still use my 4th gen version. Thought maybe the r 5 would be better but it was quite opposite. -magnets don’t stick very good -iPhone pro (not the max) would slide down metal surfaces when stuck-snap grip would come off my phone since there’s no adhesive-the plastics on the grip would fold in on itself and not close right -grip would not stay locked when not in use Overall this version reminds me of the 1st or 2nd gen. I tried both and had a horrible experience. Gave this company another shot for the 4th and thought they did amazing with that. Now this 5th gen let me down.
Not sure if it’s a common issue but my grip arrived with the adhesive seemingly half peeled up to where I had to completely remove it just to use the grip, as well as the rotating center of the grip not rotating while attached to a case, only when it is removed does it turn freely. It’s unfortunate as the grip seemed like it would be better than the alternatives.
This is the Best magnetic grip i have found. It has many pluses. Strong magnetic grip, multiple ways to place fingers, kick stand on hard surfaces, charge thru grip and thin.Minuses are finger hole thru middle, my favorite, is too small for my fingers. Still works but tight. Charge thru ability doubles charge time. Which is unavoidable due to electrical inductive laws. Still great for overnight charging. i pop mine off for fast inductive charging. This unit is great. If they make one with a larger thru hole without increasing diameter, so it doesn't hit mt camera hole in my case, i will buy another.
Just got mine in the mail, I was very excited for this and shewwww boy, what a let down. Within 10 minutes of use the plastic piece that pops up will not snap all the way back down. Oh snap! I would love my money back.
The charging stand I use next to my bed aligns initially but doesn't stay charging with the snap grip 5 attached to my case. I have to remove it every night before bed.
I love almost everything about the Oh Snap! The only issue I have is that when I put it on the wireless charger, it got VERY hot in a short period of time, so I’m not able to wirelessly charge with it on my device. Other than that, it does everything it’s supposed to.
