The drive went to bed just after 3 years considering the cost it would have been cheaper to get online storage and then having The Nas Drive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased a WD ssd drive. After I received it, I reformatted it for Mac OS. Now I can’t access it with me MacBook or iMac thru the usb ports. I tried using the disk utility, and it couldn’ recognize it. The red light lights up but the unit is undetectable.

The last brand of hard drives for my NAS lasted roughly 5 years. Apparently that is the "average" life span. Going to try Western Digitial Red Plus drives to see how they perform.
