The device works fine but I feel like the set up process with the “apps” and optional settings and features could be simplified way more than current setup

Ever since I hooked this router up as a mesh node, my smart devices are randomly disconnecting. I've had to factory reset five of them already because they wouldn't reconnect. The router itself is a nice inexpensive unit, I think the mesh system is the problem, which isn't good because that's why I went with ASUS in the first place.

To resolve this, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Hopefully my hacked internet will come to an end. I have been hacked by reassigned IPv6 addresses for over two years and no other router could stop this from happening. The hackers would get back into the other routers I purchased by the WPS in the gui account. They took over the ownership of the router and the two I purchased, (one from netgear and one from linksys) and all that they could do was to send a new router with no fix. The Asus router lets you shut both of these off during the setup stopping the hackers from entering and I hope it will stay that way. This was reported to the router company, the police, the FCC, and even to the FBI three times and still had the issue. I hope this stays the way it appears to work so far and I will be a very happy person. Thanks for the help and I do see them trying to hit it with a hack5 device.

I am a repeat customer for your residential WiFi products, and I have just purchased your RT-AX1800S Router.
Installation of the Router was absolutely painless and took me about 15 minutes. My family didn't even realize our home network was not available during installation. The product is feature rich and I particularly appreciate the "Guest Network" capability. Keep up the good work.

I neede to replace an older route and this ASUS was an Amamzon choice. The price was good and when it arrived it was an easy set up and, so far, it stable and hadles all the devices we run. I would recommend it for home and home office use.

To resolve this issue, place it in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Check if the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Below average router for the price with very limited customization features for traffic monitoring, analysis or blocking. Not designed with robust security or flexibility in mind.

Excellent modem extender, I fixed my problem with low signal in my home. I live in a home with concrete walls ans was unable to get a strong signal with my old extender. Problem solved with the ASUS. No more poor sigaml in the rooms at home. I was not able to stream games to my ps5 due to a poor signal. Happy customer here.
