cheap & terrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is made of cheap materials. The drawers are made of cheap plastic and the top drawer opens difficultly. The two shelves only have one other option to adjust down. The freezer shelf is low to the bottom and has not adjustability. Most importantly the refrigerator shelves do not go all the way to the back of the fridge. There is a 5 inch gap between the end of the shelf and the back of the refrigerator. This is supposedly for air flow, I presume for the energy efficiency. BUT THEN WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE PUT A LIP ON THE BACK OF THE SHELF SO JARS (ETC) WOULDN'T FALL IN THE 5 INCH HOLE? I don't get it! I don't like this fridge!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge looking for ease of mobility and price. Im glad i did the arms are reverseable so if i move i can switch the way the handles sit on the door if the new layout of my home requires it. So glad i made this purchase.

Works fine, switching door side opening a BIG pain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator working fine. We had to reverse the doors to open from the opposite side. Several of the holes for the door hinges in the refrigerator body metal were dimpled, but not actually drilled through. We had to drill the holes before switching the hinges. Also the instructions were not well written, for some simple things as how to remove the hinge coverings, causing us to break one handle screw cover. All in all, it works fine, but we weren't happy campers with the effort to change the doors. If you need to change the doors to fit your kitchen, you might want to have the dealer do it. Recommended only if you don't have to change the doors.

Works well, no complaints

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this a month ago as a replacement for one that was made in 1988. Maybe my opinion of this one is biased considering how old our last one was, but it doesn't make a sound. And even when it's in the defrosting mode it's extremely quiet. The shelves are spaced apart pretty well. There's a drawer attached to the underside of the top shelf so half of the second shelf is more cramped for space. And the bars on the shelves are a little farther apart (about 1 inch) than other refrigerators. Only a problem if you are putting narrow bottles on it. But otherwise no problems.

Very Good Refrigerator with, unfortunately, one deficiency

I've had the WRT138FZDW in my home for 3 1/2 months now, and am overall, very pleased with the unit. It is large enough for my needs, keeps everything at the appropriate temperature, and is incredibly quiet while doing so. I wish I could give it 5 stars...but unfortunately, the space management in the refrigerator section should have been handled better. IMO, there should have been one more pair of ledges in the sides of the fridge so that items of the same height can be stored more compactly. There's entirely too much space wasted between shelf levels. If this fridge had had the proper shelf engineering, I'd have given it 5 stars..6 stars...8 stars...10 stars...well you get what I'm saying.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot believe how quiet this refrigerator is, I'm amazed! For an 18 cu. Ft. Fridge it has so much room and the layout of the shelves are excellent. The shelves in the door are staggered creating more room there also. The freezer does exactly what I needed it to, enough room for a weeks worth of shopping and ice cube trays. I just put a 20 pound turkey in there for thanksgiving and still have enough room. Great Value from Whirlpool!
