Short lived.

I received a Snap Grip 5 as a warrantied replacement for my Snap Grip 4, which lasted under a year before the scissor mechanism was malfunctioning. Unfortunately, my Snap Grip 5 was even shorter lived, as they got rid of the adhesive that helped secure it to your phone or case, relying only on magsafe. I pulled my phone out of my pocket after work to discover the grip is completely missing from my magsafe case. Considering how pricey these things are I don't feel like I got my money's worth. Disappointing because the thin design, multiple grip methods, fidgetability, and magnet hold are all cool features I didn't see in other options. I wish I could have received a Snap Grip 4 instead and still had the adhesive.

I have had the 4 for years and love it. Then the 5 comes out and you cannot charge thru with it and it doesn't stay on as well as the 4.

Mixed feelings

This is my second grip from these guys and both have been very very good. The kickstand feature is awesome and the ability to stick to any metal surface is great. It doesn’t snag on your pockets and is thick enough to keep your iPhone camera lenses from getting scuffed on surfaces. I don’t typically use the wireless charging since my grip is attached tot he outside of a case and that seems to really drop the power transfer rate. The 5 feels very natural, comfortable and sturdy But I have some negatives as well. IAfter almost two years with my first snap grip attached to the outside of a smooth case the adhesive on the back started to fail and I ended up removing it and cleaning off the glue. After this the grip started having a stronger attachment to whatever it was stuck to than my phone case and I ended up losing it one day. Bottom line: the external magnets are stronger than the internal ones keeping it attached to your phone and I preferred the adhesive on the back. Now that I have the new version with no option for adhesive I worry about the same issue causing me to lose my grip again. I wish they offered a choice of glue or no glue because I would bet that many customers are looking for a very permanent attachment that won’t slip off at the gym.

This newer one is better than the first one. It stays on my phone now verse coming off on my iPhone mount. Only thing is, now it doesn’t stick to surfaces as well as my Snap 4.

As a phone grip/kickstand/fidget thing it’s perfect. My biggest gripe is the one thing I was most excited for and that’s its magnetic performance. Light pulling pressure at the right angle and it will pop off the back of the phone. Most pro models of phones over 6 ounces will slide down on metal surfaces because they are too heavy for the magnets to keep up with if attached vertically.Deploying and then gripping the product at first felt clunky and confusing but one can adjust to it after some time.

Wanted to really like this

I was excited to receive my first Snap Grip and I really tried to like it. Unfortunately, it does not work for me for a couple of reasons. First, the size of the finger hold is too small for my fingers. I don't think I have particularly large hands and fingers, but it is so tight I feel like my fingers will go numb if I use it for too long. secondly, it does not allow for a strong MagSafe connection to a wireless charger. The phone fell off the charging stand in the middle of the night.I do like that is is very thin, but also am concerned that being that thin may impact in the long term for not breaking. It may be perfectly fine, but I do worry a bit about that
