Chipped after a few months of light use :(

When I received this as a gift for christmas last year, i was thrilled! It was heavy and felt like good quality, I thought it would be my workhorse. I have used it for maybe a dozen dishes in total: veggie stock, homemade chili, risotto, and some breads to name a few. Last night I made risotto and sadly watched as a huge chip flaked off the bottom of the pot. I'm super bummed because I loved the color and feel of this product before it chipped and became unusable. For reference i was always using wooden or silicone cooking tools on this dutch oven, and I didn't use it above the heat recommended. hopefully I will find a replacement that doesn't chip.

Great cooking pot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This enameled iron cooking pot has been a great addition to my iron cookware. I'd been looking for a cast iron pot where I could make stew, spaghetti sauce, and Coq de Vin without worrying about the acid of the tomatoes extracting too much iron into the sauce. It is a great pot for large meals. I highly recommend it.

Damaged

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would have given it a 3.5. I haven’t used it yet. It seems nice a heavy. The black coating on the top rim, where the lid sits, is damaged. I figured that was why they were so cheap and by the time I got around to opening it I’d had it for over a month.

I was pleasantly surprised how heavy it was and how level it is. The lid fits perfectly and cooking in it is great. I would have preferred a darker blue, but the peacock blue it good. Well worth the awesome price!
