GREAT SOUND! small package

They just arrived a week ago and I hooked them up to the TV immediately. Using the optical output on the TV. Compared them one on one with my pair of AR-8 speakers, the little Klipshs sound SO MUCH better! It's just amazing to me how good they are. Those that are complaining about the hiss just need to turn down the main volume control a little bit, at full volume there's some hiss with no input, turn it down just a touch and it's gone. I use this to listen to the TV and DVDs plus I can put a CD in the DVD player and listen to my old CDs when I want to. I've also used the bluetooth connection to my phone to play music. It all works great and sounds SUPER!

I had a pair of The Sixes (fantastic and wish they hadn't been discontinued), but decided to move onto the R-51PMs when I moved cities this year. I use the R-51PM system with the SPL-100 Subwoofer for movies and music in a medium-large room. I listen to music via Bluetooth connection, and I have the speakers connected to my TV via the provided optical cable. Incredibly versatile and easy to use. Sharp and clear sound, but not exhausting to listen to. I cannot say enough good things about these speakers for this price. I highly recommend getting a subwoofer to pair with the speakers to round out your lower frequency sounds, as the R-51PMs alone do not provide enough bass for my personal liking. My system (R-51PM and SPL-100) is absolutely fantastic, I don't think you can find as good of a system for the price point.
Pros: Ease of Use, Sound quality, Versatility
Cons: Not a ton of bass

Bluetooth Failure

I loved these speakers for the first 6 months that I had them. Unfortunately after 6 months, the bluetooth pairing failed. I tried a factory reset, and worked with customer service to try to fix the issue, but they just will not go back into pairing mode, nor will they pair to previously connected devices. I've been waiting for a replacement receiver (replacement part to fix the issue) for the last 4 months, and the expected date keeps getting pushed out further. At this point, I can't recommend these speakers, despite their incredible sound, since the primary reason I got them was for bluetooth audio.

Unlike other comments, I've had no issues with these amazing speakers. No hiss, no interference and no issues with connection. They look and feel like quality. Heavy and solid construction. The magnetic grills are great- easy to remove if desired. I use these with my Pro-Ject turntable, and absolutely love the sound and streamlined look. These speakers are powered and have a built in amp, so if you plan to use with a turntable that doesn't have its own on-board phono pre-amp, o problem! Just use the amp in the Klipsch. Bright and crisp sound, even when cranked way up or turned down low. Bass is responsive at low volumes but really shines when volume is turned up. I thought I might need a subwoofer, but am so pleased with the sound that I doubt I'll go that route at all. I'd heard of Klipsch but never had owned any. Given COVID, it was impossible to listen to these in person prior to purchasing but they were highly recommended to me and I'm not sorry.... best purchase I have made in a long time. Looking forward to discovering more about Klipsch!
Pros: Attractive, Magnetic grill, Sound, Versatility

Purchased this, along with a Klipsch subwoofer, to replace a 10-year-old 5.1 system I had hooked into my computer. Upon consideration, I discovered that I really only used the system for music, so why buy another 5.1? Instead, I chose to invest my money into a premium 2.1 experience. These speakers _just work_. It's fantastic. They go downrange, they go way high, they go anywhere in-between. I don't claim to be an audiophile per se. However, using these speakers gives me access to a level of detail I had no idea was there. For the price, when compared against other options, this is a spectacular alternative to "multimedia", built-for-PC speakers OR having to purchase a separate receiver and building a system with discrete speakers. While these sound great on their own, I recommend pairing them with a subwoofer to get the frequencies below 80Hz.

Immensely powerful potential

I initially set these up on my PC, straight from USB. They sound really good overall but it's true that even on standby there can be some quite noticable "hiss", probably introduced by the source or signal chain. While listening it wasn't noticeable however. I was surprised at the overall sound signature: tremendously powerful (no sub needed unless you're in a huge room, maybe not even then), dynamic, but quite "rounded" and a tad "enclosed". The sound is unique but enjoyable, it doesn't quite have that "forward" presence as much as power. This speaker pair is more "muscle car" than "limousine". The dynamic bass EQ is wonderful as well, especially if you don't want to crank the sound way up to enjoy that power and punch. I recently added a DAC and did some very slight EQ tweaks however, and now it comes alive - the deepest frequencies roll into the room like thunder before you'd normally even hear them, piano notes hang in the air and voices feel just right, whether it be deep male baritones or crystalline female falsettos. I think it's important to remember however that this is first and foremost a slumbering beast, and that should be your priority if you're looking to buy a pair. There's great potential and elegance here, but nothing is quite as impressive as the simple magnitude and dynamic power within - they'll rock, they'll roll, but they may need a little bit of additional help to truly shine.
Pros: Dynamic, Easy to drive, Many connectivity options, Tremendously powerful sound
Cons: Sound signature may feel "rounded", Source may introduce some noise

I listen to mainly classical music on these
speakers. The sound is truly incredible - feels like you are right there in a concert hall! I highly recommend these speakers.
