#1 cast iron pot everyone should have

I love my 5.5 qt round! I've had it for at least five years and it still looks new. It is my go-to pot for soups, stews and bread. It browns beautifully, nothing ever sticks, and cooks evenly. When I make a roast, it comes out incredibly moist because of the "dimples" on the lid. All the trapped moisture creates a little rain forrest. I love taking food directly from the stove to the table. I highly recommend the magnetic trivet.

This size is my perfect size for my family gatherings and backyard BBQs. I use this cocotte all year long no matter the season as it is so easy to adapt from one season to the next. Fall and winter for long braises in the oven or stove-top, and when Spring and Summer roll around, I transition a lot of my cooking to the backyard on the BBQ (California weather). We even take it camping and place it over the campfire, or sometimes in the hot coals. I can't sign this cocottes praises enough and I am more than happy with the few different sizes I own.

Great Color

Purchased this last year for my Christmas holiday table. Love the green. Cooks great
and keeps food nice and warm when serving.
Made in France, each pan is formed in its own unique individual sand cast. The majolique enamel coating is exclusive to Staub and is what gives the color a rich three dimensional look. Nothing else like it, and is also chip resistant.
The cast iron has fabulous heat retention, and is second to none when cooking stews, sauces, roasting meats and vegetables as well as baking homemade crusty breads.
Bought this for Christmas but use it all year around. Just crazy for Staub!

Staub enameled cast iron is made in so many beautiful glossy tones. The enameled black matte interior is optimal for braising and browning. Lids with continuous self-basting spikes make for tender, moist, and flavorful dishes. The 5.5 qt round cocotte is the perfect size for family dinners and most recipes.

I absolutely love this basil color, it is my favorite and looks so good in my kitchen! The 5.5qt. Is a great size dutch oven and is a perfect size for small to medium portion size recipes. I love how versatile a piece this is, and I use it for so many things, soups, casseroles, bread, etc. I love how the lid helps keep in the moisture in the cocotte and I like how the enameling is black and not white!

It is perfect for my small family. It does make a difference in food taste wise, efficiency-saves gas and you can serve your delicious dish straight to your table without the need to use another dish. I also bought a staub cast iron trivet to protect my table from direct heat.
