I had never used a serger but sew on a regular basis. I ordered this one as I didn't want to have too large of an investment and reviews were good. So I gave it a try. I have found it to be very easy to use. I have even had to rethread it twice and from what I was told that is the most difficult part of a serger. The guide/numbering made rethreading a snap. I can say that for a beginner this was a great buy!
the machine is exactly as advertised. The instructions via CD and/or the book are not user friendly or clear. I resorted to UTube to learn to thread and use the serger.
I really love this serger. I was replacing an older Brother serger and when it was new I loved it but I couldn't keep it adjusted. this serger and the directions that came with it are great. I was able to just plug it in and got started. It seems to have fixed all the things that weren't quite right in the 920. Thanks a lot.
was very surprised to receive this in just three days from order date and I'm very pleased with the ease of operation. The directions are excellent, easy to follow and I'm so glad I ordered it.I also have a brother sewing machine that I love.Keep up the good work & Thank you !
For years I've been afraid of Serger's. All I ever heard was how hard they were to thread and how hard to use. It was lies all lies. I LOVE my Brother 1034D it could not be easier to thread and it worked like a dream right out of the box. In fact I made something within 20 minutes of it coming out of the box. This is the best purchase and gift my husband could have ever gotten me.
I wanted a serger specifically for hemming t-shirts with the double row of stitching that you see on most of them but the 1034D does not do that kind of hem. My fault. I obviously didn't do sufficient research. However, since that was my only reason for buying a serger I have barely used it. I have watched the videos and read the book that came with it and it seems great for what it does. A friend has one and loves it. Based on her experience I would recommend it.
Absolutely thrilled with this serger. I have used many and much higher priced. No complaints whatsoever, easy to thread, rarely breaks thread, and is a workhorse. Highly recommend. I do not do fancy serging, but I may try now. Highly recommend to anyone needing a good, inexpensive serger. Way more machine than what you paid for.
