This machine is very easy to thread and it STAYS threaded!!! Runs great and doesn’t flinch at all no matter what fabric I run through it! Just highly recommended it to a friend!

This is the first serger I've owned and I am pleased with how it makes my clothes look, more professional!. The only complaint I have is that the thread that came with kept breaking, not sure what kind of thread it was since there is no label. Since I read it runs through thread quickly, I wanted to use the provided thread up before I put on more expensive thread. Think this may have been a mistake... All in all, it is a good little machine, especially for my first one and the price was great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Brother surger is my first. I have used others and talked to everyone I know about their serger. It performs perfectly. I have changed threads often with no difficulty. Very user friendly to thread. Changing from four to three threads and back not a problem. For the money this was an awesome purchase and I love my serger!!

1034D - Bought it because it was rated 'ease of threading' for the price - returned it because it was a nightmare to re-thread. The feed dog caught the fabric and gouged the fabric, thread knotted and broke a needle, and after replacing the needle and re-threading for the 100th time, I returned it so I would not have the aggravation because I love working on my sewing projects.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought mine from a woman who is new to sewing and thought this was just a compact sewing machine. She couldn't figure it out, so I got a great deal except she couldn't find the instruction manual. So I turned to YouTube and with the help of a good friend, I had it running in no time. It works great and I love using it. Love the neat finish it puts on my seams.

Don’t buy it!

Waste of money! My machine broke after owning it for 7 months making a little girls dress seam with normal cotton fabric. When I tried to take a shop to repair it, one place quoted me more than the cost of the machine, and several places said they won’t touch this model because it’s made to break. I finally found a certified brother repair shop and they said it won’t be covered by a warranty. Several people at sewing/quilting shops have since told me this machine is made to break. Would not recommend for any reason. Will not be purchasing brother machines again.
