I have been interested in sergers for a long time but was intimidated by how challenging I had heard threading a serger could be. After reviewing the accompanying videos and looking at the "threaded" unit... I followed the diagrams in the manual and threaded the unit. I started with a few simple projects of different fabrics and am very excited about taking on more challenging projects.
I love this serger! It does everything I need it to do. Threading this machine is so easy. I have had it for 5 or 6 months now, I use it almost every day, and have not had a single problem. I liked it so well that I bought my daughter-in-law (new to serging) one for Christmas. One quick lesson from me and she was off and sewing.
I received this machine as a gift and I couldn't be more satisfied. It is the first Serger I have ever had but wanted for many years. The DVD included in the instructions is fantastic and very easy to follow. I loved how I could pause it when I needed. I was surprised at how easy it was to thread. I was able to use it in a very short time which was exciting. Everything I've done so far looks so professional. What can I say...I really DO love this machine!
I bought this one after my expensive model broke down and I learned it would take several weeks to get it repaired. I was pleasantly surprised that an inexpensive machine would be so easy to thread and use. My only problem was the first thread guide for the upper looper which could not hold wooly nylon in place. I solved the problem by using a portable thread stand that moved the spool further to the left. I am not missing my other machine and will probably make it the backup if it ever gets repaired.
