The serger is very noisy and sluggish when in use. The pieces of fabric that are cut by the blades end up inside the machine and makes it very messy. I oiled it several times but the machine still rattles very loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have yet to be able to sew with this machine. The threading is complicated and difficult for those of us without perfect eyesight.

Absolutely love this serger

I have owned 5 sergers in the past to include Singer and Juki and this is the easiest to use of them all. The markings make it easy to set the machine for different stitch types you don't have to guess !!! I teach sewing at my senior center and am recommending we get this machine for the center.

Why did I wait so long to buy a serger?

I always thought the serger looked difficult and confusing to operate. I opened the box, plugged it in and away I went... truly amazing how easy it is to operate and nice a job it does finishing the edges. Why did I wait so long to buy a serger? The instructions were easy to follow and the various video's available took the fear out and I love this machine.

After reading several reviews, I went ahead and purchased this machine. I've been using it everyday for the last month and I LOVE it! It is easy to thread, which was a big concern for me.

Good Quality Serger

The Brother 1034D is a very good serger. It has a few stitches and will serge many types of fabric. It is a very good starter serger for a beginner. It is color coded which makes the threading easier. The place to hold the stitch finger is very convenient. Overall a very good purchase.
