Disappointed

This worked great for about three months. Now it refuses to create a chain, the upper looper arm sticks and I've broken about seven needles trying to correct the issues.
If I had known how problematic this machine was, I would have shelled out a bit extra for a more dependable one. Even worse, it was my birthday gift to myself!

New to Serging 1034D

I'm an experienced seamstress new to serging and found the 1034D's design and layout made getting started easier than I expected. The tutorials provided were enough information to complete three garments the first week with the machine. I'm pleased with the quality of the machine and the stitches. It is easily adjustable to handle very light weight knit fabrics I intend to serge frequently.

No Longer Afraid of Surgers!

WOW! This surger has changed my sewing life. With this surger, I no longer have to go through several steps to finish edges and make ruffles. I was afraid of the threading process as I have heard "horror stories" about threading surgers. What I found with this machine, is that it couldn't have been easier! With its color coded threading routes, threading this machine is very easy to learn. It is a real work-horse and because I am so happy with it I now own two!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm on the fence about it

I'm not sure if I love my machine or not. When it works properly it's a nice machine for a good price but, I've had it for only a few months with light usage and already the needle plate broke. I'm in a group for this machine and apparently it's common. After the needle plate was changed out it's been working fine. It's very easy to thread. I have yet to try it on any heavy fabric to say weither or not it can handle it. So far I'm just not sure how I feel about it.

I had never used an overlock-serger before. My sewing machine was in the shop. I had to go with the serger. I had a 4 yard length of fabric that needed to be finished on the bottom. There is a 8 inch scalloped edge all the way down. I was able to 1-cut the excess fabric off, 2- finish the scalloped edge and 3-have it done quickly. It took me 45 minutes to do my project. I was thrilled with the ease of this machine! If you can work a sewing maching, you can use this machine! Highly recommend this product!

Can’t believe I never had one!

Haven’t had it too long but so far it’s the best. I thought the threading would be hard to do but it’s pretty easy. Can’t wait to do some more projects. Here’s my first. Great purchase!

I was intimidated at first but I just keep practicing and I'm getting more confident. I would suggest Youtube for great tips, the DVD is very basic.

An honest to goodness threadable serger

I had to send this note to let you know how pleased I am with my 1034D. I have threaded at least 4 other name brand sergers and this is by far the easiest and most economical. I love the stitches and the instruction amanual doesn't require a PHD to understand the instructions. Thank you. I added this to my Brother sewing machine and my Brother Embroidery machine. All fine products with great customer service.
