Great Machine at Great Price!

I did a lot of research on sergers before choosing this one, and I'm so glad I did! I'm fairly new to sewing, and here are the things I was looking for: low price, sturdy, enough functionality to take me through the next stages of my sewing hobby, easy to use. I got my 1034d and started using it straight away with the thread that came with the machine. I made a knit tunic in a couple of hours! Learning how to thread the machine was very straightforward, and I got it on my second try, using a combination of the manual and some Youtube videos. I was intimidated by the idea of using a serger, but now I feel very confident! So far I've only used a 4-thread overlock stitch for sewing seams on knits, using the all-purpose foot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's sew easy!

It's really sew easy to use. Color coordinated threading make threading the serger a no brainer for sure. I wish I wasn't so intimidated by this machine and I wish I would have bought it sooner. The gathering foot makes gathering so much easier then the old fashion way. I can't say enough it's definitely one of my most favorite purchases too date!

I bought the serger for my birthday and was quite intimidated after reading the instructions and watching the videos. I decided to take the plunge and purchsed a jersey knit to make a loose flowing jacket. I haven't completed it yet, but I found threading the machine was really quite easy and I am really enjoying working with it! I recommended it to my sister before I'd even tried it, I'm sure she'll love it as much as I do.

I got my surger for xmas. I've wanted one for 5 years. After a little practice i am so happy for this machine, it saves so much time on projects.

LOVE my Brother 1034D

I love this serger so far! It is my very first serger, and honestly I didn't see a reason to purchase one. NOW...I don't know how I could live without it. The ONLY suggestion, is a longer cord. The foot pedal and power cord need to be a longer. I have issues with the foot pedal cord a bit too short.

There were no real lessons or classes with my Brother Serger as it was purchased through a retail store's web-site. I did take one class in the store that helped but being determined, I'm working through this by myself. Love the 1034D and I'm getting more comfortable and confident all the time. I must remember it is NOT a sewing machine & will not go in angles or circles (YET). I was so happy & surprised with the Serger.

Great machine for the price

I got my Brother 1034D for Christmas. I am still learning how to use it, but it's a great machine for the price. I recommend this serger if you are ready to move to the next level of sewing and want cleaner finishes. Threading it is not all that difficult as others have said. It comes with two dvds plus the manual. If you take the time to watch dvds and read the manual cover to cover you will be an expert in no time.
