I have had my serger for only a couple of months. I wasn't sure that I would like it, but it is easy to thread and it is easy to follow. You can also switch from using the cutter to just binding it with just a turn of the handle. The price is reasonable, and I would recommend it.

I was very concerned about threading -have heard horrible horror stories! Well first time threading - easy, a snap - wish I had purchased this a lot sooner. I love this machine!

I always wanted one for hemming, and finishing seams. I was scared reading all the reviews about the threading and using the machine. I didn't have a problem-watched a video on threading while I was threading mine. It was easy!

Great starter serger

I ordered my first ever serger last month and I am thrilled by how many stitches are on the Brother 1034D. It worked well right out of the box. Rethreading is a breeze!
I wish there was a Mac CD as I couldn't play the one that came with it, but I found an official-looking video online that explained everything.
I'm so happy with my choice of and entry serger.

I have been wanting a serger for years, but I had always heard they were temperamental and hard to thread. I finally took a chance, researched all the brands and read all the reviews. The Brother 1034D was the perfect price and all the reviews were glowing. I would recommend this to anyone.

My Serger sat on my sewing table about a week before I used it. I read the booklet that came with it so I could become familiar with it. I think I was scared and felt intimidated with it. I finally got the nerve to use it. My fright of it was not necessary!! It is very easy to use and to thread. I just love it and already have made some napkins with the rolled edge. They look professional. I then took them to my Brother PE770 Embroidery machine and embroidered a butterfly on the corner of the napkin. I can hardly believe I did this. They are beautiful. Now, I will be making napkins for family. I also intend to make some cloth bags. I just LOVE it!!!!

I have used a serger for thirty years. It was time for a new one and I love this model. Does just what I needed and has new features I am sure I will enjoy using.

very disappointed!! I bought it and just tried it out and it worked ok. Changed the thread and now it's not sewing. I know it's threaded correctly. It's making a knocking noise and sounds terrible!! I wouldn't suggest it at all!
