I love my Serger> My Kids gave it to me as a birthday present 2 years ago. it is a wonderful machine. a must have.

Cover stitch machine

Used 1st time. Tried to tie new color to thread left fm company. Worked until pink thread broke before threading needle. Took forever to get 1 thread through guide & needle. Also found that you sew right side up! Booklet did not explain this well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

for the person who needs the fabric so it won't unravel, this is a good one. I really like the fact that it will trim as you sew if you need it to. I have been sewing for many years and wonder why I did not get one before now/

Great Christmas

I have had my serger less than a month and used it for several garments. There are sooo many videos of people with the Brother1034D so there is virtually every question answered. The machine is easy to thread and not at all temperamental You can be versatile with the tensions, lengths, widths while you learn. Your fear is the only thing standing in your way. Not this machine!!

Great machine for the price

I got my Brother 1034D for Christmas. I am still learning how to use it, but it's a great machine for the price. I recommend this serger if you are ready to move to the next level of sewing and want cleaner finishes. Threading it is not all that difficult as others have said. It comes with two dvds plus the manual. If you take the time to watch dvds and read the manual cover to cover you will be an expert in no time.

I love my serger .

I really enjoy my serger. it is easy to use. The only problem I had was that 3 to 4 months I bought it was that a part of the serger broke. I had to take it to get fix. it's been 2 months since i took it they are still waiting for that part. they told me that a lot of people are having problems with that piece. I just wish they could focus on making the needle plate stronger but over all I really enjoy the Serger 1034d that I had to buy my self another one.

very happy with the product and delivery, so quick, the over all construction of the machine looks and feels great, as a beginner I can't say anything for it's work and ability, however I still feel it was worth it.

Do An Upgrade

I bought this for my 2nd home and really wish I would have bought a better model. The serger I am accustom to has a totally free arm for tight spots, this one does not. Also, it seems I have to keep re-threading it , even though I have the dials set according to the handbook. Sewing is my hobby and wanted to be able to enjoy it when I go to Fl home throughout the year. At 65, can't tote it bck and forth to store for someone to look at it. Just wish I had shopped and tried out first
