Less than perfect but pretty cool
on March 10, 2026

This phone's main selling point is its gimmicky nature; however, the folding motion is the only consistent gimmick.
A couple annoyances I've experienced as someone who's been using this as their daily driver the past month:
• Both screens are hard to see in the daylight due to crazy strong glare and it turns almost opaque, even with the highest brightness on. I can't even add an anti-glare screen protector because they say it'll null the warranty.
• The front screen design causes some issues such as:
- its hard to navigate with maps due to the camera lens literally obstructing confirmations to click on the screen.
- using a phone case obstructs important screen navigation gestures such as swiping to going back or clicking buttons to exit apps.
- double tap to wake feature doesn't always work. same with approach to silence.
- I personally don't like that if you answer a call while its closed, its default is speaker and there's no way to change it.
• I don't know if its the phone 's issue or just the android OS, but the light and dark modes don't transition with the set timeframe, even if you toggle it to do so.
• When on a call, the screen goes black while its on your ear and lights back up when you take it away from your face which is pretty standard with smart phones, but this phone randomly will stay frozen in the black screen regardless of tapping or button pressing attempts to wake it up. The solution I found is to put it back on your ear for a couple seconds, then check. That usually does the trick, but its highly inconvenient.
• This phones audio quality is very lacking. Again I don't know if its an android issue or the actual phone model, but when connected to speakers, the audio quality and volume automatically changes and there's no way to fix it. Just have to wait it out until it randomly decides to reset. Even when bumping music on its own, its not that loud compared to my old iphone XR.
• The camera quality washes out people but takes relatively good environment pics. The only thing is that it can't tolerate any movement whatsoever.
• You definitely can see and feel where the phone folds.
• The unfolded screen does scratch easily. One month in and I have a very noticable scratch on the bottom portion, despite being super careful and not having dropped it yet. I truly hate that you can't put a screen protector on it. The phone case designs available don't seem like they'll protect it from falling face down while opened as it needs to be flush with the screen to not prevent it from closing properly.
• The button on the left is useless unless you use ai. It would've been cool to assign it a non ai related prompt for full functionality.
• Its almost impossible to find a phone mount that doesn't interfere with it either shutting from hitting bumps in the road while its open or pressing the power or volume buttons when closed.
There are most likely more annoyances I'm missing, but overall, the dopamine hit I get from its cool factor balances the issues I have with it (for now).
Would I buy again? Only time will tell, but as of now its pointing to not.
Takeaway: Don't buy this phone expecting great specs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great phone, crap company.

First, if you plan to trade in a phone, I'll make this simple: do not go with Motorola at all. Their trade in values are low, they use a 3rd party to determine the value, they charge you the full price then, eventually after you hound them for weeks, might get aroud to refunding whatever the 3rd party determined your phone to be worth - which could be even lower than the already low promised amount.
Regarding the Razr Ultra 2025 - it's a great phone, with a TB of internal memory and a nice pleather outer surface. Both of these are no longer offered in 2026, so why bother? Again, Motorola is not the first phone company people think of for a reason. Almost all phones out there now are great. If you want a flip phone, this specific model is indeed good - for another year or two. Then something better will come along. Don't waste your time on Motorola.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your trade-in experience. Trade-in programs are handled through a certified third-party partner who carries out the device inspection and valuation once the device is received. The final trade-in value is determined based on the actual condition of the device after assessment. If there is any difference between the estimated and final value, the adjustment is processed back to the original payment method after the evaluation is completed. We understand that waiting for final confirmation or refund processing can be frustrating, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused during this time. Great phone! Best I have owned!
on April 30, 2026

This is definitely the best phone I have ever owned. Convenient when folded. I can use the front screen for most of my activities and when the screen is opened you get a very useful full-sized phone. It was upgraded to Android 16 and runs great. It fun to flip open and closed like we did with flip phones of the past. I highly recommend the phone!

Nearly perfect

Did my research and am not disappointed. The phone is everything I was looking for to switch away from my Apple iPhone 11. Both screens vivid and functional, apps work flawlessly. Love the flip idea and will likely stay with the concept forthwith.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beware of Bluetooth problems
on March 30, 2026
Posted by: Bankonit
I've had the phone about 6 months now. I love many aspects of the phone like the foldable screen, massive storage, and built in AI. However, android has been updating their Bluetooth stack and it is not playing nice with this phone. I can't connect to half the devices I own. Even if I can connect, headphones seem to be a never ending battle with no sound through the headphones. I've sent it in for a warranty repair and it came back with no repairs. Basically all the hardware tests fine so there is nothing to replace. The problem is all in the software. I was hoping android 16 would fix the glitch but it didn't. I'm really unhappy with the phone and Motorola hasn't offered a solution to the problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Premium Foldable That Fits My Life Perfectly
on April 20, 2026
Posted by: luckymaf
I’ve used the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 for a month, and it’s been outstanding. The Rio Red color looks premium, and the phone has a luxurious, solid feel when folded. It fits perfectly in my pocket and feels great in daily use. Most of the time I don't have to open the phone because the exterior 4" screen tells me everything I need to know at a glance
I installed Microsoft Launcher to match my Surface Pro 11 and Microsoft 365 workflow, and the integration has been seamless. The Razr Ultra performs smoothly, looks fantastic, and has become a natural part of my Microsoft ecosystem.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a stylish, modern foldable that delivers both form and function.

Cameras Need Work
on May 30, 2026
Posted by: Razr69
from NC, USA
Due to the great sale price, I decided to try the 2025 Motorola Razr Ultra despite being less than impressed with my 2020 Motorola Edge. I had hoped in 5 years, they improved the camera – my biggest complaint.
Overall, the phone is good especially at the sale price. It is quick, has long battery life and the form factor is fun. Unfortunately, the cameras are a bit of a let down. I wanted the Pro ersion with Zoom camera but ended up with the Ultra due to the better sale.
For the price, I would recommend it if you want a flip phone. My relative has the flip phone from the other major brand and I have to say that this one is much better (especially the use of the outter screen).
Pros
* Unique: The flip style stands out and the Rio Red color is very eye catching
* Fast: The chipset and RAM make this a fast flagship level phone
* Battery Life: It lasts me all day and charges quickly
* Outter Screen: Very useful like a mini phone or a smartwatch for notifications; also like the curved screen
Cons
* Cameras: OK for regular shots but taking photos in low light are high zoom are horrible; pictures are on the dull side and not very saturated
* Fingerprint Scanner: It is in the place where I naturally place my thumb so I often unlock it by accident and up accidentally calling people etc
* Bloatware/Skin: There are a ton of extra apps, mostly made by Motorola, that you cannot remove. They are not intrusive but still annoying
So-So
* Price: Very expensive at regular price but the sale price makes it a decent value
* Updates: Seems to get security updates quarterly instead of monthly; will only get 3 OS updates
4 stars overall.
