My son-in-law and daughter love their Garmins, so I got this one. There are many great features, but the thing you'd think would be the least trouble is the most: it doesn't read heart rate accurately, especially when exercising. I've had cheap smartwatches do a better job. Even when I 'start an activity' to make it more accurate, it still struggles. If that ONE thing was fixed, I'd give the watch 5 stars - but this is one of the most important measurements for me.

I got this watch to replace my original Instinct watch. It has features that I was looking for, like solar and tactical. I wanted a new watch that is rugged and can handle the outdoors.

The watch is great! The directions are horrible. Too many buttons and menus. How about a simple stupid guide for 80% of what people need. Like how to turn off, How to work the 4 buttons in a logical manner. The bottom left button was very nice to check your vital...very easy! The rest was a nightmare. How to turn it of on a plane??? Maybe a manual this has a readable font! Maybe an easy button for a lighted display? Grab a mit and get in the game!!!

It never needs charging because it doesn't have the battery-draining OLED screen. My favorite watch/health tracker.

I’ve had my Instinct for a year and a half. It’s worked great the whole time. I use it to track paddle boarding and mountain biking. On group rides my Garmin is usually the only one that tracks the whole ride without dropping the ride. Somehow my crystal cracked and Garmin replaced for half the price of a new one. I’m extremely happy with my watch.
