This heater was not as warm as we had hoped. The area that it covers is rather small.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this a couple of years ago. It works great. But I have had to have two repairs to it. The service was great when this occurred! For me, it was very complicated to put together. Took me hours. If I could buy another already assembled, I would do so in a second!

We love our new infrared heater, besides it being a sturdy frame it really heats up our California room. We love the wheels they make it very easy to move the heater around.

We bought one to try it out and then a month later bought another. So far everything is great. It was fairly easy to assemble and worth the price. It get's windy where we are in AZ and the units work well under these conditions.

Good Heater for Arizona

We live in Arizona, and I get cold at 68 degrees(dryheat). This infrared heater works well until below 45 degrees, at that point we add our other patio heater, the LP one that we got from Fire Sense also. With both of them on, we can remain comfortable until the freezing mark(which has not happened yet - 37 degrees so far). We love this infrared heater because all you do is plug it in. So much faster than other, and does not use the LP. We were shocked just how well made the new infrared heater is, the telescoping metal is extremely thick. It appears that this year will be unusualy cold, and we are ready! We smoke outside, and the two heaters make it so much better!

A good electric patio heater w/assy. challenges
on May 14, 2016

Overall, a good electric patio heater with challenges getting up & running..
Application: I live in a high-rise condo in a chilly/windy area, and gas patio heaters are not allowed. I wanted something to break the chill on my outdoor patio.
Experience:
Self-assembly a minor challenge:
The illustrations in the paper manual are just a bit too fuzzy to clearly make out a few things.
The electrical cord routing took a bit to figure out.
One Phillips head screw on the head unit was so firmly in place that I was afraid I would strip the head. Luckily, I could complete the assembly without loosening that one screw. Maybe I'll try again in a week or so...
Heater did not work initially. (No heat, lighted on/off switch on stand was not lit up.) Contacted Technical Support who sent a replacement bulb. Upon disassembling the unit to install the bulb, I saw that one of the electrical connections had not been made. I made the connection, reassembled the heater head, and the unit then worked.
I have used the heater for 3 nights now. Heat generation is OK (perhaps a bit lower than expected given the size of the unit – but this is my first patio heater).
Pro
Looks good on patio.
Appears sturdy.
Modest cost.
Tech Support.
Con
Condition from factory (not fully assembled).
Difficulty of assembly.
