A machine that helps you learn

I didn’t feel like I was learning with my previous sewing machine, so I returned it and took my chances with this Brother. Needless to say, It was a great choice. No jamming, smooth/easy sewing, perfect foot pedal sensitivity, customizable stitches (length/width), useful stitch applications, the list goes on and on! I’m finally learning how to sew and it’s thanks to this beautiful machine; it’s got just what you need— a perfect beginner machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this about a month ago and absolutely love it. I'm new to sewing, so wasn't sure how I would do using it. It was very easy to set up and start using. Still learning all of the pattern stitches, but the lcd display helps to select each pattern easily. Come with 7 different feet for all your sewing needs. I would definitely recommend this machine for anyone looking to start sewing.

It very easy to set up and use. The quality is great and so far I haven’t had any problems. Great sewing machine!

Great Machine!

This sewing machine is perfect! I didn’t want a high-end machine but also not a super basic one. I’ve had this 2.5 months and it’s been the perfect machine for me to learn how to sew. It’s quiet, easy to operate, and lightweight so it can be stored away when not in use (I don’t have a dedicated sewing space). Highly recommend this Brother sewing machine!

Nice Array of Stitch Choices

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very pretty machine- a step above your standard sewing machine with attention to aesthetics. I chose the pink, green, blue flowers and the colors are pastel with a nice design.
I’ve been sewing for years and so I know the basics of setting up a sewing machine. That said, I would highly suggest using the QR code on the machine to bring up the video for set up because it is not easily done from the quick setup guide or the instruction book, especially for a beginner. As I said, I am experienced in setting up a machine but I had to use the video. This is not overly unusual since each machine has slight variations and it is best to use their guide for best results.
Once set up, the machine is standard in how it operates. The videos show you how to choose your stitches and how to use the digital commands. The digital display shows you your stitch, the size and width as well as which foot to use. I found that very easy to use.
My first project was blind hemming a pair of pants and the machine did it quickly and nicely. This is an excellent feature for a sewing machine and I highly recommend it to anyone that needs to hem anything. SO much easier than hand hemming.
There are 60 stitches to choose from, including stitches that can be used on stretch material, overcasting stitches and buttonholing and the size and width of the stitches are totally customizable. Also, the front of the base removes, narrowing the machine bed so that you can sew a cuff or small item easily.
Sewing machines in general, in my experience, have a tendency to have bobbin issues. This one, to a lesser degree than older models, does have the issue of extra bobbin thread catching & pulling through when removing the material, bringing through a third thread. It is a minor issue but it did happen even though I checked all settings and the foot. This also causes the top thread to snap occasionally due to the extra tension. This could just be an adjustment different on this machine so I’ll be checking into adjustments that I can possibly make to avoid this in the future.
The machine comes with additional feet for different stitches including the button hole maker. It also has a tool for changing the feet as well as extra bobbins and needles. It has the capacity for a single or double needle plus self threading for the single needle ( love that).
I found the stitching to be consistent, even and tight - as it should be. Making the bobbin was easy once I was used to the configuration they use- again the video from the QR code is MUCH more helpful than the instruction book or the Quick Start guide, both of which have plenty of pictures but are configured in a way that is difficult to follow, using a mix numbers and letters that I finally figured out were for totally different things than what you would normally expect. My advice to Brother would be to overhaul the guides. The videos are very helpful to avoid confusion.
The machine comes with a removable power cord and foot pedal for operation. What is very nice is that the QR code is also shown on the machine itself, just in case the guides are lost - good feature.
Overall a very nice machine that will be getting lots of use. I look forward to exploring some of the fancier stitches to use on gifts.

My favorite sewing Machine!

I would recommend it to both a beginner and a professional sewer. I myself am a beginner, very fun and easy to use. Would recommend it to friends and family. I love the videos found online and the tips and tricks in the manual. Been able to complete many projects with no struggle feeding different fabrics. Very pretty exterior and runs smoothly, with no problems since I've purchased it.
