Great features, needs 5 years of security updates
on November 10, 2025

The Moto G Power 2025 is a very good phone for the price. It has a lot of great features and is well-built, but it has a few cons that make prevent it from being great.
Pros:
+ Contrary to reviews only, the phone is not slow at all. It feels smooth and I have not had any stuttering so far. Dimensity 6300 and 8 GB of RAM is good.
+ Looks great. "Vegan leather" feels very good. Phone feels very solidly built.
+ Speakers sound good.
+ IP 68/69 water resistance! Awesome! (This is usually on flagship phones).
+ Wireless charging is fast at 15W! (Having wireless charging at all at this price point is much appreciated.)
+ Good wired charging speed at 30W
+ Decent battery life
Cons:
- Limited software support window. Only two years of software upgrades and three years of security updates. It feels like I have bought a disposable phone. An extra two years of security updates (making 5 years) should be the minimum at this day and age.
- Wireless charging works only with QC 3.0 fast chargers. It is not compatible with older/slower chargers; it would be nice if it charged at 7.5 W or even 5 W for older chargers.
- Video quality recorded with the cameras is terrible. It looks very soft, like DVD-quality. It doesn't look like 1080p.
- While the LCD display is pretty good, it should really be AMOLED. The G and G Power seem to be the only phones in 2025 with LCD displays.
Please, Motorola, fix these issues, especially software support and the video quality!!!

Nice device

I'm happy with the phone. It's way smarter than I am. Loads of options. Had it a week and have all the basic options set up, but there are a lot more to figure out. Battery life is ok. Little slow too recharge. Screen is bright. Very thin and light. Get a good case to protect it. This phone isn't for beginners. Overall nice device.

It fell how far?

When the LG Stylo 3 came out I was all hyped. I didn't really use Motorola before. I couldn't get the Stylo 3 but I got the Stylo 4 figuring it would be better. I broke it within a couple months and a friend of mine gave me his brand new Moto G5 back in 2018. Honestly I didn't have any kind of expectations and I already counted on getting a new phone but this phone wasn't even a thought. Even back then the phone has a swipe back instead of the back and home button in the item bar. That feature alone kept me using that Moto G5 longer than I had planned. It took a couple years for me to even replace that one. I dropped that one into the river and I went out and found a new one. I'm a roofer by trade and I don't usually carry my phone on the roof with me but sometimes it calls for me to have my phone in the air. I don't use a screen protector but I do use a case. I've dropped the Moto g power off the roof or awful ladder , it's bounced off of gutters fell down the house like a pinball and the screen is so resilient people are blown away at how much of a beating that screen takes. There is a certain limit cuz I have broken several screens but it usually takes about 300 falls or more before it gives. I recommend this phone to absolutely everyone I come in contact with if the subject of phones come up. Personally I've tried a lot of other phones over the years and Motorola is the only phone that absolutely worth the price. Three of my four kids used Motorola and they won't use anything else my third son uses an iPhone which I repeatedly see being broken but he has to be trendy. I'm very surprised that Motorola isn't the most talked about phone producer out there. I don't care what free apps come with or what kind of extras they offer the phone alone is worth the cost.

Screen size

I upgraded from a moto one so
I usually have a phone for a long time. I like the bigger screen and everything is just so much faster. I also like that every thing works the same as before. That is one of the main reasons I stick with Motorola.

Love This Phone!
on December 24, 2025
Posted by: Femmelivre
Bought this several weeks ago, am very happy with how easily everything transferred over from my previous phone! The picture quality is great! I like the fingerprint identifier. My previous phone was a Moto 5G stylus but I found the stylus to be too thin for my hand so never used it. I also really like the battery charging limitation feature! Im sure that over charging my previous phone for years is what led to its demise.

Good phone, too much AI
on June 22, 2025
Posted by: AaronB
Good phone with everything I need and a bit too much extra. Moderate amount of bloatware that only exists to give unnecessary notifications. Feels like every app and user interface system is loaded with AI designed to annoy you until you use it. Sometimes unlocking the phone causes a glitch removing the keyboard and primary 3 buttons (Home, back, tabs) for about 5 minutes. Besides my gripes the phone has a lot of great features and accessibility options. Between the great battery life and overcharge protection, this phone will keep going for everything you need it for. The phone is very repairable, but the back cover seal has to be broken to do so; Every internal component is disconnectable and able to be easily replaced or removed. I was very glad to see Motorola still supporting the 3.5mm aux when hardly any other phone would. Given the pricepoint compared to the usability and features, this phone is a great choice. Overall the phone is good, but not something I would say I prefer to my previous Motorola phone (Motorola One 5G Ace).
I would recommend this to a friend!
