Bought two of these. Needed immediately for event, so no time for return. One of the panel of the 8 received leaks, so water not an option for that one. The product really does not seem designed to work with the Cantilever Offset umbrella, but living with it. Sections do not want to be secured with metal brackets provided - brackets too short. Overall, seems odd that this is the base sold for the Cantilever Offset. Be prepared, with this product in place, the base for the umbrella will be sizable.
I purchased this to accompany my BCP cantilevered umbrella. I am using the umbrella on a 7th floor rooftop patio. Plenty of wind! Using this base filled with sand I am certain that my umbrella will not tip over or blow away. It is very staple, some other component of the umbrella would break before it moves. I think this type of stand is required if you want a cantilevered umbrella. You do need ample space as the base has a relatively large footprint. I used sand instead of water because of the added weight plus given the location I didn’t want to deal with draining it in the winter. But it did take a little ingenuity to figure out how to efficiently get 50 lbs of sand into each of the 4 quadrants using the 1” diameter fill hole. Suggest having a recommended method as part of the directions.
The base was bigger than expected and took up too much room on the deck. It is very straight forward and easy to set up, but we are sending it back due to the size. We will screw the umbrella down to the deck itself.
