Fantastic cooktop!

We purchased the portable induction to cook outside at home and use in our RV when travelling.
Since we were familiar with induction cooking and have the cookware this single zone portable cooktop has been a great addition and allows to cook "smelly" food outside at home and it also comes in very handy to use when we take trips in our motorhome.

This induction cooktop boils water and cooks food in about a third of the time of a traditional electric range. I run it off our solar system, and it seems to use approximately 800 watts at level 3. I chose this particular device because of its size: I can fit my 10.5 inch cast iron pan on it comfortably, whereas other devices were way too small for that. I think maybe previous reviewers did not have induction capable cookware? if a magnet sticks to your pot or pan, then it can be used on an induction stove. The white residue on the cord is from the Styrofoam in the packaging, and comes off with normal household cleaner. That is NOT evidence of a defect!
