I used this to replace my standard downlight over my front door. I have a Ring doorbell with a black keypad that is impossible to see at night until you touch it. If you touch the pad in the wrong spot it registers the touch which is usually the wrong number on the keypad. I linked the Govee downlight with Alexa and I made an Alexa routine to turn on the downlight on bright white when the Ring doorbell sees motion at my front door. This makes the keypad on the doorbell easily visible before touching it. Problem solved! Oh, and it's nice being able to use colors on these lights for the holidays too. Installation was pretty simple.

It is incredibly difficult to find a 4"full color “wafer"style led light to be used in a soffit outside. Especially one that just works as it should. I tried Halo brand lights with Wiz connectivity. Out of the box I couldn't get 2 of the 3 to even connect. Govee has been effortless. I do wish there were more ways to “link"the lights to act more like the permanent outside lights. I just don't like the exposed look of the wiring on those.

Do you need these, no! But are the super cool, YES!! The WW are super bright white all the way between yellow glow to surgical white. The color options are the same as any of the lights in the line up. I did have one LED powersupply go bad already, which i swapped with another in mere mins thanks to the supplied Wago connectors. I do feel like 1 of the lights has a slower wifi connection therefore its color changes a 1 second later than the rest, but who cares. They are fun to play around with and when your wife asks you to be a grownup you can make them white to match any color temperature. Well done Govee.

I have several Govee products in my home including the TV Backlight, Led Strips, Light Bars and now the Recessed Lighting. These were extremely simple to install, they come with everything you need (including wire connectors). They feel well made and look GREAT!!!

4 inch down lights

First impression they are slow to turn on like 2 to 3 seconds from flipping the wall switch to the lights lighting up. Once they're on, they perform like all Govee lights, which means they're wonderful. I just wish the wall switch power on feature was a little quicker. One other feature, I would like to see is a better interface to dial in the white light color to balance with the existing lights in the room.
