I used this to replace my standard downlight over my front door. I have a Ring doorbell with a black keypad that is impossible to see at night until you touch it. If you touch the pad in the wrong spot it registers the touch which is usually the wrong number on the keypad. I linked the Govee downlight with Alexa and I made an Alexa routine to turn on the downlight on bright white when the Ring doorbell sees motion at my front door. This makes the keypad on the doorbell easily visible before touching it. Problem solved! Oh, and it's nice being able to use colors on these lights for the holidays too. Installation was pretty simple.

I have several Govee products in my home including the TV Backlight, Led Strips, Light Bars and now the Recessed Lighting. These were extremely simple to install, they come with everything you need (including wire connectors). They feel well made and look GREAT!!!

Bought these to replace my old can lights that were installed when the house was built. I cheated and forced the clips into the mounted canisters rather than going into the attic and removing the cans as the directions stated. My house is 2 story and getting to where the can lights are is just not an option for an old feller my my stature. So I was able to hold the cips back and quickly insert into the cans. Clips opened up and have held the lights just fine for 6 months now. That being said, it wasn't easy. I noticed they have retro lights now that appear to be the correct sort of replacement. I would go with the retro if you are not removing the cans. If you can remove the cans, these are a no brainer. I hooked up to my wifi switches and they stay on white almost all the time. I have yet to hook them up to the TV lights using the dream feature but have played with the different light effects from my phone.

No major complaints, they work great. But the app to me isn’t user friendly. Just trying to synchronize them together. But apparently you can only put 10 into one setting. Maybe it’s operator error.

I love the part that Alex sync so easy allow us to control lights on and off as well as dimming. Oh and changing colors.

Love the lights, hate the springs.

The lights work perfect and look great. However, The lights keep falling out of the ceiling. It seems that some of the lights have issues with where the springs connects to the light. We bought 2 packs of 6 and 7 out of the 12 lights have this same issue. The slot where the spring clicks into the light seems to be too big/loose and wont hold the spring in place causing the spring to come out of the light. Aside from requesting that Govee to warranty out the light and take the 50/50 chance I will get another one with the same issue, the only other option is to glue the clips into the slot on the light itself.
