[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Use to play in the doll house. Barbie was moveable, clothes was beautiful. Back head had two plastics that poke and scratched. Its a fun fashion toy for little girls to play. Material of the dress was soft.

Trusty pretend play toy, but with QC issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently gave my 5 year old daughter the Deluxe Style Barbie with a shiny blue outfit and dark brown hair. I mostly chose this Barbie bc we don't have a Barbie with this skin-tone in our collection and I thought my daughter would love the iridescence of her outfit. I usually have no issues with Barbie quality, but this is the first time I've really got some not great things to point out. I'll start with what we love about her.
Pros:
We love her clothing and some of her accessories. She's got little stud earrings, some sunglasses, a rhinestone choker necklace, and a belly chain that are all very cute. She came with a little blue diamond shaped purse that opens up, which will show up both here in the pros and in the cons. Her hair is soft, her facial features are as they should be, and her body joints move how we expect. I appreciate that she's a little shorter than the rest of the Barbies in my daughter's collection, as it represents one of the many ways humans are different from one another.

Cons:
The first thing we noticed upon taking her out of the box, is that her boots don't fit. They fell right off of her feet. Also, they are made of very thin flexible plastic, which doesn't seem up to the standard of her other Barbie accessories. I imagine the soft plastic was part of the design, but in this case it doesn't work out bc they simply won't stay on. We tried them on other Barbies, as well, and the boots don't stay on them either. The next thing we noticed were the holes in the bottom of her feet from the molding process. I've never seen that on any of our other dolls. She also has a small defect in the plastic on her pelvis, but that one isn't a big deal, as it's mostly hidden away. Her hair was half up in a cute little bun and there is one strand on each side that's tied back with a thread in order to frame her face, but one of the threads is missing so the effect was lost. Again, that's not a huge deal bc my daughter will enjoy changing her doll's hairstyle in many different ways, but it speaks to the quality of the design, IMO. Lastly, her little purse flips open on a hinge, but it came apart the second we opened it. It is possible to get it back together securely so you can show it off as a closed purse, but any time you try to open it during play, it comes apart.

In the end, though, it's really a matter of whether or not my daughter enjoys playing with it. And she does. She's 5, so she doesn't care about small defects in the plastic or tiny missing threads, but she DOES care that the shoes won't stay on and the purse falls apart. That was a little disappointing for her.
TL;DR: My 5 year old enjoys playing with this Barbie as much as she likes her others, but design quality issues prevent me from giving it 4+ stars. I wish I could give it 3.5, I think.

Unique Barbie Addition to Child's Play Collection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Barbie Deluxe Style Doll was a good addition to our Barbie doll collection. She has articulation and her own style and looks compared to most Barbies. She has slightly darker skin tone, dark hair and an original purple, metallic outfit. She is about same size as a "normal" Barbie and has been played with in Barbie cars, the Dreamhouse, and along side Chelseas, Barbies, Kens and Stacys.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Barbie Deluxe Style doll is great. She is a petite body style. She comes in a two piece outfit, very cute, in a blue-purple metallic fabric. She also has a pair of sunglasses and a small purse that opens, as well as shoes. She is articulated with joints at her elbows, wrists and knees!
