This is my first robot litter box and I absolutely love it. I’m lazy when it comes to litter upkeep but this has definitely made my life easier. I use grass seed litter that clumps and haven’t had any issues so far a month in. The only ISSUE I have is that my cat is .. crafty.. he can open the waste drawer which he’s done a handful of times now which isn’t the biggest issue but only becomes an issue because the Loo Too will still go through a rotation like normal even with the drawer out and it involves me getting down and pulling poop and clumps out. I’ve started taping it for now and even got a child lock for it to help but a sensor or something in a future model might be needed or a simple turn lock for the waste drawer for the more curious cat.
Overall, I really like the Leo’s Loo Too. This is my second time using one and after weighing the pros and cons, I’ve decided this is the right automatic litter box for my two cats and me. I previously used a Litter Robot 3 by Whisker and was generally satisfied but after moving into a new apartment, had to keep it in my bedroom versus it being in the living room as it had been previously. It was really loud during the cleaning cycle so I started looking for quieter options and landed on the Leo’s Loo Too. It had some really nice features, was much more quiet when operating, and overall felt like a solid upgrade to the Litter Robot 3. Shortly after purchasing the Leo’s Loo Too, Whisker introduced the Litter Robot 4 so I decided to give it a try. In a lot of ways, it’s a marvel of engineering and the best automatic cleaning litter box on the market. It’s remarkably quiet, eliminates any odors, has a very accurate weight scale, and an industry leading iOS app. The issue? It may be over engineered. After going through three different units, I always had the same problem. There are two cameras that determine the state of the waste bin (how full it is) and monitor for activity (cats coming and going) when a cleaning cycle is in process. If any dust or a stray cat hair lands on the camera lens it results in the globe not cycling and the litter box becoming basically unusable. After months of working with Whisker support and multiple firmware updates, I decided reliability was more important than cutting edge tech. So, going back to the Leo’s Loo Too, the only real issues I have are with the waste bin and the iOS app not being as fully featured as Whisker’s. The biggest issue is the design of the waste bin and the globe. Because the opening in the globe through which the dirty litter exits and the opening of the waste bin are relatively small/narrow, it results in the app reporting that the bin is full when it’s really not; it’s that all the waste piles up in the center. This can also lead to the waste getting on the clear plastic bin cover, making for some unpleasant cleaning, and clumps of litter can even fall into the empty space behind the bin when you pull it out. By redesigning the globe and bin openings to allow for more even distribution of the waste, this could be resolved. Otherwise, it would be nice if the Leo’s Loo Too would show current status of the waste bin (0% to 100% full) like the Litter Robot 4 does and the weight scale could be more accurate. Maybe these features can be added with a firmware update? Otherwise, if the next version features a redesigned waste opening/bin I think this would be a nearly perfect automatic litter box. All in all, very reliable and if you just remember to remove the bin and shake it every couple of days, leveling the waste so it doesn’t all pile up in the center, then the worst attributes can be avoided.
So far so good! The cats took to it very easily which I was nervous about. I have 3 cats one big long haired and two Siamese. The big one and one of the Siamese are very skittish and afraid of their own shadow so I expected it to be very difficult to get them to use it but they took to it after only a day! My long haired used to step in her waste and it would get all stuck in her paw it was so gross but that doesn’t happen at all anymore and as big as she is she fits in the box comfortably it’s not a problem. There is a bit more tracking around the littler box from jumping out of it. The smell is a million times better. Really SO much better. I don’t smell dirty litter at all in my home anymore it’s amazing even when the waste bin is nearly full. I will say when changing the bag out it’s possibly one of the most disgusting putrid smelling things I’ve ever experienced in my life because it’s like a lot of waste at once. It’s really really horrible I can’t even find the words for it. It’s so bad. I started burning sage while I change it to eat some of the smell. But atleast it’s quick and I’m not stuck there scooping. So I try to just hold my breath the whole time and just run outside until the smell is gone. Make sure you give the drawer a jiggle so you don’t behead the poop pile. It’s very very quiet I never hear it cycle. It’s definitely saved us a lot of litter so far. I was having so much buyers remorse during the shipping time but now that it’s finally here and so much better than a regular litter box I have absolutely no regrets.
I was skeptical of buying this due to the price tag and having 4 cats. I was worried that it would not keep up or that it would be too much of a pain to take apart to clean and it would smell. But I adore this thing. There is no smell at all. It is a breeze to deep clean. The bags last about 4 days with 4 cats. Sometimes it says that it is full and I can shake it a little to spread out the clumps in the pan and it lasts another day or two. My cats love it. I absolutely adore it. And it is also really cute.
I am pretty impressed with this machine. It looks good, works quiet and does what it says. My one kitten is under 2 pounds so it doesn't recognize she was in so I use my Alexa voice command to turn machine on and it works. The other kitten is right a little about over 2lbs and it works after him. You can basically use any kind of bags for the dirty litter. It was a little pain to clean it and put it back in a correct position where it all clicks in. It seems my husband was more successful with it. I am not sure if this is a user error or a design flaw or a defective item. But overal I am so glad I have it! My kittens are still very messy so they step and track the poop all over a lot of times. I had to clean around the edges manually after nearly every time they used it and of course because of their poop being stuck to the drum it stinks occasionally. But I also believe it is because their poop is much more stinky while they are adjusting to new food. Hopefully as they grow they will be able to be less of the mess. Overall, I am very happy I gave it a try! I don't need to scoop anything anymore!
Had this box for around a month now and it’s great if you want only one box in the house and want to scoop less, no complaints there. I will say it doesn’t solve any litter spreading issues because the cats don’t have much room to shake off so they take more with them on the way out. Also wish they offered stairs since the hole is higher up my older cat had a harder time climbing in but we just put a small stool and it works great. Also with 2 cats, one is super obsessed with watching the box and using it and we’ve had about 3 changes of the bag already. Would not say it lasts a month even for one cat. Weighing feature is always different, and the ugly light is not real so just save power and turn that off in my opinion.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This litter box is like no other, my cat immediately loved it. I thought it may be a bit small, but my cat makes it work for her and does not seem to care one bit. this litter box has made my life easier and no complaints so far. Do be sure to pull out the crap door every couple of days to give it a shake because the litter just falls on top of eachother and will not fill the perimeter of the waste bin unless shaken. other than that.. this is a great investment and will save on litter in the long run.
I have 3 cats, i had 2 litter robots, one died so i replace with the leo loo too, really like the design. It looked like my far cat wouldnt be able to fit online, but it is not in issue. The use of wheels for the shell to roll of is super nice, it takes the stress off the motor for it turning and its quieter. I am super pleased with the unit.
