I upgraded to the FR955 from the FR45 and I love it so far. So much more data available to me. I considered the Fenix series but decided that it would be too bulky so the FR955 is such a good size will still having a big (1.3in) touch screen. Excited to use it this summer for some big mountain runs!

HRM and GPS appear to be significantly more accurate than older models.

Great watch with many features, Really like the morning report, HRV, and training readiness. Having maps and a touchscreen is a really nice bonus. I find I use the touchscreen a good bit. Overall solid, solid batter life, solid data recording, I feel like its metrics are for the most part accurate. The only con so far is I got a mushy button, seems to have happened to some people. The button still works and all the other buttons are very clicky. Seem like just a quality control issue.

Great fit, comfortable, many features, easy to learn. Mainly for trail running and hiking. No complaints, looking forward to testing in cold weather conditions.

Great watch

Really great style, light weight, easy to navigate after a little while and customizable screens. The only thing I don't like is how for workouts like yoga and pilates it expects you to press the button on the side of the watch to indicate a new pose, and with something as flow oriented as pilates or yoga that isn't realistic. However, Garmin is a far superior smart watch for hiking and running with GPS for hiking and great customization for running face.

Good at everything!

I purchased the 955 with the hopes of using just one "thing" to track rides, runs, workouts and sleep. My Garmin Edge 520, an older bike computer, was on its way out with an ailing battery and a fresh crack on screen #2. I had been using it on runs to give me insight into my heart rate and GPS tracking, but it wasn't designed for any purpose other than cycling and it showed. Forget about trying to use HR tracking for stationary activities. The 955 by contrast does everything. It gives me feedback on pace the way a proper running device would. Its 'Morning Report' is a nice summary of how I slept, and just everything about the watch functions is just so intuitive; it's refreshing. There's tons of different watch displays to choose from so it's easy to find something that elevates the metrics that you're most concerned about. Mountain biking is my primary activity and I really like the nature of a watch-based device. It's one less thing I have to worry about if I lay my bike down. I haven't gone to a bike park yet since getting the watch, but I'm envisioning it being way easier to pause & resume in an effort to nix the chairlift elevation. I'd recommend this watch to anyone who does a wide range of activities but would prefer to keep tracking down to just one device.

Every feature I've tried so far works as advertised. I had an instinct for a couple years before the 955 and there was an issue with every sensor at some point in its usage.
