JBL Vibe Beam 2 now with active noise canceling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Vibe Beam 2 are great earbuds. The sound quality is well balanced and can produce crisp highs, clear vocals and deep bass. They offer an impressive bang for your buck value with a ton of features via JBL Headphones app which is available for IOS and Android. Call quality is loud and clear. I called my wife who said she would rate the call quality an 8 out of 10. The ANC does a good job at eliminating ambient noise. The ambient aware feature is very important should you need to hear your surroundings. Touch gestures can be customized for each earbud individually. The relax sound feature is great for listening to nature like sounds. The eq is a must as you can tune in the way you like to hear your music. Find my buds is very useful should you misplace the earbuds. The app warns you to make sure to remove the earbuds as the tone emitted is very loud. For being budget-friendly, they have a plethora of features. I highly recommend these for budget conscious shoppers.
Here are some of the options for each feature:
Ambient Sound Control: Active Noise Cancellation, Ambient Aware, Talk Thru.
Smart Audio & Video: Automatically adjusts between Audio Mode and Video Mode.
Gestures: Customizable gesture control for left and right earbuds.
EQ: 10-band customizable EQ as well as customizable factory presets.
Left/Right Sound Balance: Adjust left and right balance.
Max Volume Limiter: Adjust the limit of the maximum volume.
Voice Aware: Control the volume you hear of your own voice during phone calls.
Relax Sound: Offers 5 preset ambient sounds like ocean waves, night critters, fireplace crackles, birds chirping and river water running.
Find My Buds: Plays a loud tone to each individual earbud.
Power Saving: Auto Standby and Auto Power Off, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours.
Pros: Affordable, sound quality, noise canceling, ambient aware, custom eq settings, battery life,
Cons: Could be a bit louder (perhaps an update fix)

Good sound, ANC is obnoxious

Pros: Big sound in a little package. JBL is good at delivering good sound quality for relatively low price.
Cons: ANC. ANC. And ANC. This JBL has Ambient Noise Control n or ANC which allows users to either turn on noise suppression or let in ambient noise. Good idea in theory, but in practice this means every time you turn on the headphones, it sounds like someone is blowing air into your ear on top of whatever music, podcast, audiobook you're listening to. You can manually turn it off, but you have to do so every. Single. Time. An easy fix would be to have a setting where you can change the default mode, but this does not exist. It's not the end of the world, but it's impressively annoying to have to change a setting every time one uses a headphone, and something I wish I knew before purchasing.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We tested our JBL Vibe Beam 2 and found that the last function you select is saved in your preferences. When you use it again, the device will remember the last setting you selected (Noise Cancelling, Ambient Aware, or Off). Please avoid touching the tap buttons while wearing the earbuds to prevent unintended setting changes.

Vibe Beam 2 - Best for voice audio
on February 2, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Review: Earbuds for Voice Applications
Pros:
Voice Quality: These microphones and noise-canceling technology deliver clear voice quality in moderately noisy environments.
Comfortable Fit: The earbud design plus selectable tips provided a comfortable fit, making them ideal for use during podcasts, online meetings or phone calls.
Noise Cancellation: Effectively blocks out background noise in moderately noisy environments, allowing for focused listening and conversations.
Battery Life: With up to 8 hours of listening time and additional charges from the case, these work for multi-hour use.
Cons:
Lack of Bass: While these earbuds perform well for voice applications, they fall short in delivering a quality music experience due to their limited bass response5.
Not Ideal for Audiophiles: If you're looking for earbuds that provide a rich and immersive music experience, these might not be the best choice.
Conclusion: These earbuds are a great choice for anyone who prioritizes call quality and noise cancellation for voice applications. However, if you're an avid music listener who enjoys deep bass, you might want to consider other options.

Thanks for the great feedback! We're so glad you're enjoying the Vibe Beam's call quality and noise cancellation. We're always looking to improve, so your comments on the bass response are very helpful.
Your headphones utilize a feature called "Check My Best Fit" in the Headphones App. This feature will determine if you are using the correct ear tip size and the positioning within the ear canal. Please go to or download the JBL Headphones App, scroll down to "Check My Best Fit", and click to begin the process.
If it's lacking bass, we need to determine the common denominator. For example, if it only happens on a certain album, you may want to adjust the EQ to boost the bass a little bit while listening to that album. But if it only happens when you are using a specific streaming service or app, you might want to check with the service or app to improve the sonic quality. However, if it appears to be completely random, try boosting the low-frequency settings in the EQ to find a happy medium so that a typical recording sounds more full, but recordings with extreme bass are not excessive. Great choice for budget conscious

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would rate these as a 4.5 if it was possible. The JBL Vibe Beam 2s are a great choice if you are on a budget and want very good noise cancelling and decent sound quality. I have several pairs of JBL earbuds and while these don't have the audio performance of the JBL Live Pro2, they have decent audio quality but almost on-par noise cancelling. For the price of these earbuds the noise cancelling is phenomenal. The audio is very good, has less bass than the higher end buds, but if you accept what you pay for these are a very good choice.

Lightweight and comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried countless JBL earbuds and these are by the far the lightest and least noticeable pair I have owned. Sound quality is great. Plenty of touch controls on both earbuds. Even the case is nice and lightweight. The ambient aware feature is awesome. You can have a conversation without having to take them out.

Big improvement over the Vibe Beam.
on July 18, 2025

The Vibe Beam 2 are a big improvement over the Vibe Beam. They have a better ambient mode, better call quality and the ANC is better then the JBL Tune Buds. The ANC isn't high end but it does a decent job of muffling out most sounds. The app features are vastly improved over the Vibe Beam particularly the Equalizer which is absolutely needed to get the most out of these earbuds since out of the box they sound flat. However unlike the Vibe Beam the Vibe Beam 2 respond better the bass adjustments. The amount of bass is about he same as what we got with the Original Vibe 200 earbuds.
JBL finally addressed the way the Vibe earbuds fit into your ears with the design being less bulky and much more comfortable and able to stay in place. The charging case is similar to the Vibe Beam design wise which is something I thought was fine since the case works fine.
So overall JBL addressed all the issues the Vibe Beam had and really improved them with the Vibe Beam 2 while adding more features like multi point and longer battery life.

Not loud enough
on September 3, 2025

When I first started using the Vibe Beam 2 ear buds I thought something was wrong because they were so quiet. I made adjustments in the app and it got a bit louder but still not sufficient. I then tried the other size ear pieces and that helped, but I’m still disappointed at the overall volume. Even with the noise canceling turned on they just don’t get loud enough.
Response from jbl.comBy Customer SupportSeptember 5, 2025
We appreciate your feedback on our JBL Vibe Beam 2 TWS. To give you the best audio response, you must create a tight seal within your ear canal. To do this, angle the ear tip slightly downward to make it easier to insert into your ear canal, gently twist the earbud to fit it securely into the shape of your ear, and continue twisting the earbud into your ear canal to achieve the best seal and secure fit. Also, please check if the balance control of your source device's sound settings is set to default (centered). We also recommend cleaning the earbuds with a cotton swab of alcohol. This will help remove dust or dirt that is blocking the ear tip causing low volume output. If you need more help, please contact us.

Survived a Bus

I bought this for my boyfriend and he is very clumsy. So when he opened the box, the case flew out into the new york busy street. A bus went on top of the case and the whole force of a bus ran over the case... and it still works. My boyfriend has been using it for three weeks and nothing is wrong with it. The build quality is so good.
