Great light but could be even better

I purchased this light locally and like it; however, there are 3 things that I wish it could do. First, I wish that the light was hinged in the center of the support arm. As it is now, I can lower the light head but doing so moves the light forward across my desk. I would like the ability to lower the light head closer to its base; another set of hinges in the middle of the support arm would allow this. Second, I would love to be able to adjust the color temperature of the light. Currently I can adjust the brightness but I am unable to adjust the hue of the light. It would be nice to be able to have the ability to shine a warmer light on occasion, and as the unit is now, it can't do that. Finally, I wish it were easier to convert this light from a clamping light to a pole light. I chose to use the clamp; however, it appeared that once you pop the base of the light into the floor pole that locks into place and would not be removable. Perhaps this light can do that; however, I didn't want to be locked into a floor lamp so I didn't want to risk trying it. Despite three things things, this is a nice light and I'm glad I purchased it. The magnifying and clamping arms are infinitely flexible and seem sturdy (though there are other reviews that have complained about the durability of these features), and having a 120V outlet built into the base is a brilliant feature that I didn't know I needed until I had it! I'm giving 4 stars for the plastic base and clamp (they look good but don't inspire confidence), positionability of the light, and the inability to control the light temperature.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not Assembling

I am having the same issue as everyone else on here. The top assembly does not fit in the base and therefore cannot be used as a floor lamp which is why I purchased it. This is an expensive floor lamp not to be able to use properly

Fixed the floor base issue!

Bought just today at a closed big box store. My husband assembled it but had a hard time attaching it to the floor base. He told me it’s definitely a manufacturers defect. I was so mad and thinking this defect may be the reason why it was so cheap, the lamp works though! Luckily my husband was able to fix it! He cut a little bit on both sides to make the indent wider and was able to connect it with no problem. I’m one happy crafter right now.

I am having the same problem as another reviewer (Chris D and Gwen) where the lamp shade assembly (G & H in the diagram) will NOT fit into the base. Email comes back as undeliverable.

Just tried to assemble and really wanted a floor lamp. But like all the other reviews, the shade assembly does not fit the floor lamp. My other big disappoint is I thought I could EASILY use it all three ways. That is not the case. If I EVER get the lamp attached to the base, it is not an easy process to make it a desk top for a particular project. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!!!

CANNOT ASSEMBLE! Same problem as others. It appears the coupling to the floor piece was incorrectly produced, the diameter is wrong and too big. I bought it as a floor lamp. I am having the same issue as another reviewer (Chris D) stated. Where the lamp shade assembly (G & H in the diagram) will NOT fit into the base (B in the diagram). The instructions say "The shade assembly (H) should be flush with upper pole (B) and free to rotate." This is not working and impossible. If I had done more research I would not have bought the OttLite Ultimate LED 3-in-1 Creative Station with Magnifier even though I have good experiences with OttLite products. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

The light is bright, but I mainly wanted it as a floor lamp and I am having the same problem as another reviewer (Chris D) where the lamp shade assembly (G & H in the diagram) will NOT fit into the base (B in the diagram). No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
