The pods are definitely great in its premium looks however not enough sound quality for a 5 star rating when compared to bose, powerbeats and other standard brands.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Tech (Make Sure to Upgrade Firmware)

Love the new tech on the 2nd generation. To get the most out of them, make sure you connect your phone to power, and that your airpods are fully charged for good measure when you put them on. Also make sure that your iPhone is connected to WiFi. You can check in the settings (Google for details).
Anyways, the performance is incredible. Connecting to ccalls, the responsiveness of the little stems when you slide up or down for volume increase/decrease. The clicking is very responsive, the connection time of the airpods to the iphone is super fast (I'm using an iPhone 13 Pro). Any issues of the first set are basically resolved.
One issue might be the fit of the airpods in the ear. Even with the largest ear tip attachments, they can be loose and fall out. I paid for Spintips and so far they're slightly better, but not the snuggest feeling i usually like from earbuds. Still, like I said, an improvement from the the stock eartips.
Other than that just read up on the feautres and get the most out of your airpods.
