good for construction workers

Just got this ph. Purchased it due to its durability, I work in construction. So far so good, loud ring, clear to hear caller. The ability to switch off PTT would be a good feature, is a pain seeing it come up on the screen from the activation button being accidentally pushed. Also would be great to have volume control in the ph, not as buttons on the out side. Sometimes volume gets turned down without one knowing when the ph is always in your pocket.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: volume control activation on side of ph, not being able to deactivate ptt
I would recommend this to a friend!

Rugby II Plays Tough

If this phone can handle anymore abuse, they'll ride it into Space. Desert sand has hardly made a scratch on this phone. I'm sure I don't get the max out of this phone like I should. Even the screen size being small compared to a smartphone, still provides descent images. Camera is pretty accurate and good quality for 2 mp.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like it/Hate it

This is a tough little phone with a lot of powerful features.
However the placement of PTT button is lacking in forethought. It would be very nice if there was a downloadable file to disable the PTT. I have seen forums where folks are removing the button in order to perform "Aftermarket Surgery" on the phone but this is not an acceptable solution. Samsung sould step up and solve this problem with a quick, FREE, solution.
The speaker button is also easy to hit when removing the phone from a pouch but this is not nearly as annoying as having to deal with the PTT every time I pick up the phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, ptt button poorly placed
I would recommend this to a friend!

I owned the original Rugby, which I had for 3 years. I just upgraded to this. I like the new features. I have the indestructablilty of this phone. I'm a mechanic and a father of 2. My original Rugby was dropped in the water, dropped in antifreeze, took a ride in a engine bed ==> and it still WORKED. Thanks for making a phone, I can't destroy.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color

I needed a phone that is built more robust, so I chose this one. I am hopeful that it lasts at least the 2 years of my contract.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Too big, heavy than most phones
